Chicago Activist Tells People Mad About Looting to ‘Get over it! These Buildings Are Insured!’

An activist accused people upset over the recent looting in downtown Chicago of being upset about the wrong thing during a recent press conference.

“People are worried about looting and there are literal lives being taken away? There are people who are dying and y’all are mad about looting Mag Mile? Get over it!” Alycia Moaton said at the event hosted by the group GoodKids MadCity.

She continued:

These buildings are insured. Materials will come back, but we will not come back if they kill us. What do y’all not get about that? Gucci, Apple store, whatever it is, that stuff can be replaced. But we won’t be replaced. We lose our lives every single day for this cause, and y’all are mad about the wrong shit.

I live in the Chicago area. I’ll simply say this: that b*tch better not be blocking the road when I’m driving on it. She’s got insurance, right?

Alycia Moaton said, “we will not come back if they kill us.”

Sounds like a solution to me. . .
Got any more?

If they’re insured now, they won’t be in the future, because their rates are about to go up to the point where nobody will be able to afford it.

*****************************************

In 1967, when I got out of the service at 22 years old, I bought a new car, financed to the hilt of course. Insurance, full coverage was $32.50 per month, fairly steep for 1967.

Had it for about 6 mo. and wrecked it, not totaled but extensive damage. Insurance (Allstate) paid promptly and just as promptly, raised my rate to $105.00 per month. Which was $20.00 per month higher than my car payment.

Insurance companies are not in business to lose money.

I have been doing bookkeeping/accounting for over 60 years. I do NOT remember a single client who had insurance that would pay a single DIME if there were riots—looting—arson—or insurrection.

These uneducated & UNEMPLOYABLE people are LYING.

Buildings trashed in the Watts Riots in 1965 are STILL NOT REBUILT. NO insurance company will even insure the construction company—much less the eventual building owner.

I have been trying to tell people that buildings damaged or gone during the Watts Riots in 1965 are STILL NOT REBUILT. NO company will insure even the construction.

I am pretty darn sure there hasn’t been even a hiccup in the EBT cards getting refilled.

I have 3 saddles-—& I don’t think ANY of the 3 would fit around that Ghettopotamous.

When I told him I thought that was somewhat underhanded on his part he said “are you kidding? They’re a bank! They have plenty of money!”.”””

Is that like:

“I cannot be overdrawn on my checking account-—I STILL have checks left!”””!!????

And deductibles and depreciation and how much will everyone’s insurance rate rise?
