Install a pair of these 150 db horns (same level as semis) and give 'em a blast. While they are hopping about holding their ears, get outta Dodge - or take other defensive measures.
About $20 on eBay.

"...Your vehicle is a rolling fortress, especially if it is a truck or SUV.
NEVER, EVER let a mob get you out of it and always be armed..."
In dealing with an unpredictable mob with unknown weapons, would it be better to blast the horn and keep vehicle moving a bit faster than stated in the article...and perhaps increase to about 20 mph?
This keeps tires in contact with ground (rather than riding up atop people) and nudges them away...plus it is way too fast for most rioters to run alongside to puncture tires. It very importantly ensures you do not lose control of the vehicle. They still have the option to leap safely out of the way.
My other belief is that once free and clear of the criminal mob, drive fast, drive far, and do NOT go straight to your home. Even better if it can be garaged someplace far away and get a ride home.

My other thought about the proposed 5 mph threshold (in my post above) is that speed would likely "drop" unathletic rioters, yet allow faster ones to pace alongside and still do damage to occupants or vehicle. Thoughts?

"...hearing protection..."
While there are always quality NRR foam plugs within easy reach in my pocket, the ones pictured with the plastic neck holder could be innocently dangled from a rearview mirror without attracting attention from anyone. Good suggestion.

“and then have to deal with vehicles trying to ram you off the road”
I wonder if that might have happened to the guy in Portland that got beat up so badly? I thought he was just driving too fast and shook up as he tried to escape, but...

yes, and one handed.
But I would not hesitate to shoot anything anywhere anytime if it mattered, way over ear pro.

Concur 100% on not hesitating. Yes, we must all stay alive as good lawful people first and foremost.
I have wondered if stressful situations and auditory exclusion somehow combine to help a person shooting defensively?
To endure an attack and also suffer additional hearing loss would be insult on top of unfortunate injury.

Better to be deaf or suffer tinnitus than to be dead and buried.

Same in Washington State, a state full of insane libs. There’s 7.5 million residents and by years end the state is just a few CCW’s away from the 1,000,000 mark.
