Drug use is always a symptom of deeper issues. Healthy people surrounded by other healthy people with a clear path in society to meet their needs would never abuse dangerous drugs.

Many people in some of the states haven't really assimilated since their recent ancestors moved from Europe or other parts of the world (most of them less than 100 years). Drug abuse starts with peer pressure, a desire for a thrill or to be perceived by acquaintances as being daring. Addiction, brain abnormalities and decreased inhibitions are symptoms of continuing drug abuse. Some of those brain abnormalities lead to illogical, antisocial political inclinations.
