EXAMPLE
The most valuable gift you can give another is a good example.
"For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you." (John: 13:15)
In his autobiography, Armand Hammer, known as much for his humanitarian efforts as for being chairman and CEO of Occidental Petroleum, an advisor to presidents from Roosevelt to Reagan, and an industrialist, reveals the roots of his giving spirit: "My father had become a prominent and greatly loved figure in the area. . .It was an almost ecstatic experience for me to ride with him when he was on his doctor's rounds. Patients greeted him at their doors with such a warmth that waves of pride and honor would surge in me to find myself the son of such a father, a man so obviously good, so obviously deserving of the affection he received. He could have, however, made himself many times richer if he had insisted on collecting all of his bills; or if he could have restrained himself from giving money away; but then he would not have been the man he was." "I have seen, in his office, drawers full of unpaid bills for which he refused to demand payment because he knew the difficult circumstances of the patients. And I heard innumerable stories from patients about leaving money behind to pay for the prescriptions he had written when he visited people who were too poor to eat, let alone pay the doctor." What a wonderful legacy to leave your child...the "business" of loving and giving to others.

August 23No Fishing Allowed
[God will] hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
Micah 7:19 Holocaust survivor Corrie ten Boom knew the importance of forgiveness. In her book
Tramp for the Lord, she says her favorite mental picture was of forgiven sins thrown into the sea. When we confess our sins, God casts them into the deepest ocean, gone forever. . . . I believe God then places a sign out there that says No Fishing Allowed.
She points to an important truth that believers in Jesus can sometimes fail to graspwhen God forgives our wrongdoing, were forgiven fully! We dont have to keep dredging up our shameful deeds, wallowing in any mucky feelings. Rather we can accept His grace and forgiveness, following Him in freedom.
We see this idea of no fishing allowed in Psalm 130. The psalmist proclaims that although God is just, He forgives the sin of those who repent: But with you there is forgiveness (v. 4). As the psalmist waits for God, putting his trust in Him (v. 5), he states in faith that He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins (v. 8). Those who believe will find full redemption (v. 7).
When were caught in feelings of shame and unworthiness, we cant serve God with our whole hearts. Instead, were restricted by our past. If you feel stymied by the wrong youve done, ask God to help you fully believe in His gift of forgiveness and new life. Hes cast your sins into the ocean!
By: Amy Boucher Pye Reflect & Pray
Are you holding on to the false belief that God cant possibly forgive you for some sin in your life? God wants you to allow His forgiveness to set you free!
Forgiving God, You sent Your Son Jesus to save me from my sins and shame. Help me to live in the freedom of being fully forgiven.

(If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all. (Isaiah 7:9))
To: All
Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

Sky has been all red and orange the last few days in northern Colorado. The sun went from orange to red to pink as it was setting behind the mountains.

Good evening, mountainlion, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Those California fires are pretty bad. Glad the smoke isn’t too bad, and hope none develop near you.
Yes, America is still the best place to live.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
