Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has claimed that the prevention of felons being able to vote is a “legacy” of slavery in America.

Ocasio-Cortez believes that felon disenfranchisement, a system perpetuated by 48 states that prevents convicted felons from having the right to vote, is grossly unjust. On an Instagram livestream, the freshman congresswoman rattled off a number of reasons why someone may not be eligible to vote in national elections in the United States.

AOC is shamelessly playing the race card, yet again. But I gotta agree with her premise. Once a felon has completed his entire sentence (including any probation or parole), he should have all of his rights restored.
That includes voting, owning a firearm, etc.
For a person convicted of a violent felony, I might tack on a more few years before he can legally own a gun. Just to make sure he’s seen the light. Call it a firearms-restricted probation.
So what she is saying, in essence, is that all felons are black??? What an idiot!
