Update, 1 p.m. Friday
The active shooter suspect is dead after the California Highway Patrol and sheriff’s deputies engaged in a shootout, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office said there is no known threat to public safety at this time.
It has yet to be determined whether anyone else sustained injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office tweet.
Officials continue to ask that people avoid the area.
Sounds like the Dems are kicking off their 2020 campaign.
