Goodyear or any other company cannot be turned into hubs for BLM, for Antifa, for LBTGQ, for all of these other organizations on the left while on the right you have to be quiet and just take it! That is simply unacceptable.

I agree and it really sucks and really pisses me off. The Goodyear by my house is run by good, hard-working people who have treated me fairly over the years.

It used to be if you ran a business, you could sell tires to Republicans, you could sell tires to Democrats, you kept your politics to yourself and everyone was happy.

But then that wasn't good enough. We started hearing "silence is violence" and companies were being forced to take a stand. And the stand they had to take was always on the side of the leftists (because they're good and our side voted for Hitler). And if we didn't like it, we're expected to shut up and keep buying Goodyear tires because the hardworking guy who runs the tire shop is a good man with a family to feed and he needs our business.

Leftist politics has been forced into every facet of our lives, from the shows we used to like to the sports we used to watch, and now it's destroying good people trying to run small businesses.

“So, only Blue Lives Matters, but not All Lives Matters?”

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This, therefore I suspect they only mean Black Cops matter? This company truly is run by morons. Have a look at there 5 year chart for further confirmation.

I stopped buying Goodyear tires after the last set, Eagle F1 all season, lasted about 4,000 miles before they changed and caused so much noise and vibration it was like riding on wooden wagon wheels. They had great grip, but otherwise were unusable. I only buy Michelins now, and have never had better quality tires.

It’s sad what has happened to Goodyear. Growing up, they were an American icon.

Keep the pressure on.

The management of that org is infested with SJWs and leftist filth.

Let it burn.

Other outfits will fill in and the decent humans working at Goodyear can find employment with them.

I thought this had female marketing and human resources written all over it. The fact that they’re literally Karens is too perfect.

“No way...let them bleed money for awhile.”

They will. Although corporate came out right away saying it didn’t come from them.

as a conservative, i do not like the cancel culture, or President Trump calling for a boycott... seems contradictory to the idea that we all have freedom of expression.

Don't fall for the left wing argument that calling out and encouraging a boycott of a company like Goodyear is the same as "cancel culture" and is against freedom of expression.

In fact President Trump and all of us are defending the freedom of expression which should be granted to the employees of Goodyear. They deserve a workplace free from discrimination based on how they think about "racial equity issues" or whatever else is the liberal talking point of the day. They should be free to voice their opinion if the leftists are allowed to voice theirs.

If Goodyear is opposed to anyone expressing opinions about anything that is their prerogative, but it is not appropriate for them to only allow advocacy for one point of view.

"Goodyear says the original training video did not come from Corporate"

That means they outsourced the training. The chances Badyear Corp. HR didn't review it before they bought off on it are ZERO. Badyear is involved in a shell game of semantics. I don't want to see good hard working Americans lose their jobs at the Manufacturing / Store level, but bring on a House cleaning of the top brass starting with the HR Director and CEO. Hell just Badyears share price over the last few years justifies it.

This is really more important than most realize. The President called them out for being wrong and they changed policy. That is good for an American company, American workers, and the state of Ohio. We do not win without Ohio.
More importantly, they will take heat and get threats from the domestic terrorists. But they did the right thing. Maybe it will give courage to other companies to not be intimidated by the terrorists.

I don’t know anything about them.

I do think an alternator to Goodyear is a good idea.

I’m really tired of this stuff.

At a minimum they must fire their Chief Diversity Officer (pay slightly over $176k per year) and abolish the department. Then we will know that the CEO is serious.

On top of all that, their tires are crap.

Years ago I bought a new dodge 2500 diesel pickup that came with goodyear tires. At 3500 miles one of the tires developed bulges on the sidewall. Auto manufacturers don't warranty tires, you have to take them to the tire dealer who instead of offering to replace the defective tire offered me a credit against a replacement. The credit was small and no discount offered on the replacement which meant that I would end up paying more for a replacement than I could go down the street and buy a decent tire for, of course I told him no thanks. Before 15000 miles two of the other tires had to be replaced for the same reason. The "warranty" on these defective tires was completely worthless and I ended up paying to replace all of them before 15000 miles.

I've never touched a goodyear tire since then and won't ever.

No Goodyear tires for me--ever again--you anti-American, decadence scum!

Early Uniroyal radials were really bad about developing bulges in the sidewall.

I used Goodyear unidirectional tires for a while. But they came with absolutely no mileage guarantee and the tread wouldn’t last 10,000 miles. Even the cheap Chinese tires are better than that.

Michelin tires are by far the best; Coopers are OK. Never that impressed with Dunlops even before they were Goodyear in the US. I don’t recall ever having used Contis (General) and I know I’ve never put Goodrich on a car.

Big corporations have taken to outsourcing things like as a lawsuit screen. If they get sued over it they can point to the contractor as the source of the material and claim immunity.

Many have also outsourced part of their HR departments, specifically the hiring decisions. They'll have contractors make the hiring decisions so they're insulated legally from discrimination claims. If someone sues them because someone less qualified got the job then the company can point to the hiring consultant as the reason, insulating them from a potential lawsuit.
