This is shedding. This is rebirth.

In order for this to be a shedding and a rebirth, you have to shed your Big Government, anti American, anti law and order, and Democrat establishment ways.

Are you going to do that? Where is the evidence of that?

And then there's the small matter of a large percentage of your office workers who are working from home until further notice. Will they ever return?

I don't deny that NYC has an a incredible organizational infrastructure waiting to be used. But what private citizens are going to come back, invest their time and money and make all of that work again?

NYC will need a mayor who understands all of that but the next mayoral election is still 15 months away. The remaining people of NYC will have 15 months to experience the misery and to think about it all.

New York is dead as long as it keeps electing deblasio and his hate-America communist wife.

“Freelance multimedia journalist” = semi-literate blogger.

But you voted for Bill DeBladiblah, didn’t you, sweetheart?

Covid as a plague is over.

The twin scourges of BLM and Antifa have
yet to be put down.

Furthermore kid, “you” “built” almost nothing.
You were either left out or not present and
with few exceptions lacked the intellect and skill
to do more than take direction to do menial
repetitive tasks.

...They’ve learned to thrive in the seedy underbelly...

If thriving in the seedy underbelly was actually a thing, there's nothing to worry about, because it's going to be all seedy underbelly in a few months and all the freelance media critics who can't write a headline without swearing can live like kings. Good luck enjoying living in a city that just lost half its tax base and a fifth of it's police force but still has all of its regulatory burden and budget liabilities.

From CUNY Journalism School.

She better do group projects from now on, with Aliyah, Chaquille and Aiyden.

She should have spoke at the DNC last night. Stupid platitudes abound.

NYC is the center for the arts in the US.

When I say “arts”, I’m referring the real arts.

Culinary
Musical
Painting
Sculpture
Play performance

Of note: Our best symphony and opera company both reside there, as do our best museums.

NYC is the only city that can support them.

The original article brought up a lot of good points, and is not based on emotion and fear and hatred.

That said, anytime anyone says a city is dead forever, is pretty much guaranteed to be wrong. We nuked two cities flat and both are still in existence and rebuilt today.

New York isn’t dead.

New York is in the process of dying, however. I’d describe it as a person who’s been mugged, beaten up and gut shot a couple times, left in an alley.

Destiny...... she has lost control of her destiny.

The arts? so what? Old ladies will support them financially from beyond the grave..

New York has the Subway cancer and the superb deli sandwiches will perish along with Macy’s and Bloomies and Brooks Brothers.

A place that ceaselessly churns out cultures and food and languages and arts and ideas that are so revered because the people who comprise them make it so.

Ideas like radical Marxism? No, I don't think we need any more NYC generated Marxist ideas coming out from there anymore. Good riddance, I say. Now only if Seattle and Portland would die the same death...
