Watching “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Monday night, my stomach turned and heart sank. Carlson ran video footage of a couple in Portland being dragged from their pickup truck and beaten. Their sin: their whiteness. The culprits, BLM thugs.
There were no police to intervene. Portland police, like Seattle and Minneapolis police, are practically neutered. Police are hamstrung, defunded, and demoralized in these cities. Many have handed in their notices. National Guard deployments are verboten. Curfews are nonexistent. The human excrement that pummels innocents to within inches of their lives are ghouls prowling the night. They’d come for us, if they could.
This descent into hell is enabled by so-called progressive Democrats in the aforesaid cities and Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, and wherever next. The progressives have names: Ted Wheeler, Jenny Durkan, and Jacob Frey -- all mayors -- along with numerous council members. And governors, Kate Brown, Jay Inslee, and Tim Walz. Add Lori Lightfoot, J.B. Pritzker, Bill de Blasio, and Andrew Cuomo to the roster. All -- all -- have taken oaths of office to uphold the law and attend to the public safety. They are glaringly derelict in their duties.
These elected leaders aren’t simply craven, they’re complicit in the violence and destruction that bedevils their cities. They see the mobs in the streets. They witness the destruction. They are apprised of the violence. They know innocents are being harmed. They know citizens cower behind locked doors. They know -- know – that the least among their constituents are the most vulnerable to the predation.
Yet they permit the mayhem. They let the mobs roam. They fiddle as their cities burn.

The social contract is broken. The Constitution is largely ignored, and the state and local governments support criminals over law-abiding citizens. These are dark times.
The entire democrat party is illegitimate and needs to be removed from office. It has given material support to the criminals claiming to fight fascism or to support black lives.

And this is the unspoken thing about “defunding the police.” Once there are no police, it is open hunting season on the liberal politicians.
The militias will be promptly arrested. It is not mob rule, it is tyranny.

Don't you think that most of them will be among the first to have private security? Likely paid for with public funds, to boot.
If their security wants to risk having their brains blown out, then by all means hire private security.

And if the private security guards are on the public dole, they will be acting as agents of a fascist government and will be dispatched with overwhelming glee.
The leftist elite will always have their own protection and police force. We see it now where Chicago police will not allow rioting on the Mayor’s street, but it is fine elsewhere.
The rules do not apply to them.
At the DNC convention we are lectured about income equality by politicians in multi-million dollar mansions.
The elites live a grand lifestyle behind their walls far above the roiling cauldrons of the injustice they stir up for political gain. That lifestyle is secured by the very governmental forces they criticize for the cause.

When a critical mass of the public successfully withdraws its consent, the government becomes illegitimate.
We find this out in hindsight, but of course say it is so at the moment of withdrawing consent.
The Declaration of Independence is a written instrument memorializing one such instance in history, although had the Brits won, then their claim would be no loss in legitimacy.
The Democrat Mayors are just using the “stick” to let everyone know that they must be allowed to steal from the public treasuries.
It’s a motivation ploy.
