The museum dedicated to the memory of Susan B. Anthony has, on her behalf, declined President Donald Trumps pardon of the late womens suffrage leader.
The National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House in Rochester, New York, explained in a lengthy Twitter thread Tuesday why it objected to Trumps pardon for Anthony, who was arrested and charged in 1872 for voting illegally.
It also suggested some other ways that Anthony could be honored.
Trump announced the pardon Tuesday on the 100th anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote.
Critics accused Trump of performing an empty gesture with the pardon, given his recent attacks on mail-in voting and bids to cast doubt on the result of the 2020 election.
Trump has claimed hell only lose to Democratic nominee Joe Biden in November if the vote is rigged.
The museum, where Anthony lived and was arrested, noted how shed been outraged to be denied a trial by jury and proposed if one wants to honor Susan B. Anthony today, a clear stance against any form of voter suppression would be welcome.
Support for the Equal Rights Amendment would be well received, it continued. Advocacy for human rights for all would be splendid.
Anthony was also a strong proponent of sex education, fair labor practices, excellent public education, equal pay for equal work, and elimination of all forms of discrimination, the museum said.

I spit on these people.
Trump pardoned a person - not a museum run by socialists.
At the end of the tour, they held out a hat for tips. Normally, we tip, but were so put off we didn't.
The guy in front of me exiting the trolley said: "Thanks for the black supremacy lecture."
The tour guide and trolley driver looked meekly back, and then turned away.
“declined President Donald Trumps pardon”
Not sure they actually have a say
Be sure to visit their museum when in the area. NOT.
Funny, no mention about how Trump is honoring Anthony by being pro-life and supporting the unborn.
I really think Trump should have seen this coming.
The left’s ability to politicize any and all against him has been obvious since he first announced running for office.
However their reaction does exemplify just how rabid they really are.
Fornicating ingrates. Illegitimate children of dubious parentage. Intellectually deficient sodomite-inclined wasters of oxygen.
I’m trying to be polite and watch my language.
That museum isn’t in any position to speak for Anthony. But, these sort of folks are afraid of their shadows, and assume that the left will be looking for their scalps.
The “Right” continues to play the Saint Strategy in the Prisoners Delimma and keeps reaping predictable results. Never Trump is all about insisting on continuing this stupidity. They hate Trump because he plays Tit for Tat, the only winning strategy to counter successfully.
How is that even possible when...
"She's dead Jim."
Controlling Legal Authority , and all.......
I guess I’m not surprised. I wouldn’t have expected the Susan B. Anthony Museum curators to be a bunch of rock-ribbed conservatives. Any bets that once the attention is elsewhere and the moment for political posturing is over, that the museum will display the pardon?
Take the pardon back. No need to gender pander for the female vote .If Anthony was alive today she would be a keynote speaker at the Dem convention as a Hillary supporter
Susan B. Anthony supported “sex education” of the variety pushed by these freaks? Sure she did...
How sad. These people are truly mentally ill.
I don’t think he needed their permission. /s
I don’t think they have the power to negate the pardon. /s
I’m sure Trump doesn’t give a shite what they think.
Couldnt they just be grateful? Smh
Funny, yahoo comments used to be overwhelmingly antileft before the purge and now its lik 75% leftwing.
