Randy Wade and other parents of Big Ten college football players want answers about why the league postponed the fall football season so early. They're going directly to the source.
Wade, the father of Ohio State star defensive back Shaun Wade, is planning to visit Big Ten headquarters in Rosemont, Illinois, on Friday morning. He's flying to Chicago on Thursday from Florida and expects other parents of Big Ten players to join him and seek specifics from league commissioner Kevin Warren.

I don’t blame these parents one bit. I heard this morning on the radio they are suing the schools to prove the “data” and “science” behind the no football rule.
Good luck with that. I want the “Data” and “science” behind the lockdowns but will never get it.
The SEC should leave the NCAA and start it’s own governing body.
It should then announce that it will not honor the NCAA’s blackout period for transfers.
Players and schools will be flocking to join them quicker than you can say “Covid Karen”.
There is no “data” or “science”.
It’s a purely political move, forced upon state schools by mostly Democrat governors.
“Hurt the economy, hurt Trump” is all you need to know about COVID at this point.
The chaos is just starting to sink in for the non-essentials. Expect it to continue until the crisis is over, which will probably last until all this current round of democrat governors are out of office.
Ohio, Nebraska, Maryland, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa
Of these, only Iowa Indiana and Nebraska have rational governors.
From another source:
While we appreciate the Big Tens recently announced plan for the upcoming season, we believe that the conferences proposal falls short in certain areas, the statement said.
Given that the players are the primary stakeholders in the business of college sports, we believe any course of action moving forward needs to include player input. We are deeply disappointed with the lack of leadership demonstrated by the NCAA with respect to player safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the demands includes a third-party, approved by the players, to administer COVID-19 testing and enforce all COVID-19 health and safety procedures. The statement also calls for tri-weekly testing of everyone who comes into contact with college athletes, including coaches, trainers, medical staff, nutrition staff, referees, media, etc, along with testing on the day of competition.
Rather than deal with all that nonsense, it probably just made more sense to cancel the season. Now they can all remain safe at home taking video classes and focusing on their studies, despite now putting themselves in harms way by traveling on planes.
Non revenue sports are gone, which is most women’s sports. Dems don’t care.
‘Now they can all remain safe at home taking video classes and focusing on their studies, despite now putting themselves in harms way by traveling on planes.’
yes, now they can circulate among people who are not isolated in the football program, who are not tested every day, and not given the precautions that the football players would have received in school...sure, the players will be much safer staying at home...
Meanwhile, public education at large is empty. Devoid of value.
They can have the exact same precautions and testing protocols as everyone else in the school.
Racist! You mean the Wilson Flu.
If every sport were to revert back to club and intermural status you wouldn’t have to worry about revenue. The students would still get to play.
The be parents did send their kids off to college to major in football
Whattaya bet the Big 1? commish has lots of SCIENCE that he can use to explain his ignorance to the dolts who dare to question him.
I suspect that the parents just realized that their early retirement plans just went out the window.
