Election 2020: Voters Are Highly Engaged, but Nearly Half Expect To Have Difficulties Voting (continued lukewarm Biden support; Trump support is red hot)

As Democrats and Republicans prepare for their party conventions, a new national survey finds high voter engagement with the presidential campaign – and a record share saying it “really matters” who wins in November when it comes to making progress on important national issues.

Yet the coronavirus outbreak continues to cast a large shadow over the 2020 presidential election. Just half of U.S. registered voters (50%) say it will be very or somewhat easy to vote in the upcoming elections, while about the same share (49%) expects to have difficulties casting a ballot. That is a substantial change since October 2018, shortly before that year’s midterm elections, when 85% of registered voters said it would be easy to vote.

Voters who support Donald Trump are far more likely than those who support Joe Biden to say it will be easy to vote this year. However, the shares of both Trump and Biden supporters who expect it will be easy to vote are much lower than the shares of voters who said this in 2018 – regardless of which party’s candidate they supported.

Popularity polls/polls of who people think will win are useless. Polls that tease out voter preferences, while not perfect, are insightful. Pew tends to get it better than others. So, skipping past the blather, the important takeaways are:

1. Trump has solid support, while Biden's support is...that he's not Trump:

2. Biden supporters aren't as confident as are Trump supporters.

3. Biden supporters will "be angry" (read: likely riot) if he loses.

4. It's still the economy, though what's important to each candidate's supporters varies:

5. Looked at differently, Trump support is still stronger than that of Biden.

It’s worse for the Democrats.

That's why the Demon-crats are already coming up excuses for Sleepy Joe's inevitable defeat (e.g., Trump's stealing mailboxes).

They know what we all know. They can only win by cheating. It’s why there is no real policy discussion. They believe they have a right to power and a moral imperative to gain it by any possible means.

What a lameass excuse.

Neither Trump nor Biden was running in 2018.

They're trying to imply all those who voted democrat "Blue Wave" in 2018 were more than will vote in 2020?

BS.

Wait and see, drivebys. It will be 2016 all over again.

The dems know and have known they are going to lose.

Everything for a while and for the future before and after the election is to set up and claim the the election was illegitimate and therefore Trump is an illegit president.

RussiaRussiaRussiaUkraineUkraineUkraineImpeachImpeachimpeach is now USPS-USPS-USPS which is to set up IllegitmateIllegitimateIllegitemate.

They have known since Impeachment failed and since Covid failed to take down the economy or to panic the core of America that it's over for them.

What's left for them is to try to not just resist for 4 years but to get their coup merely by declaring the administration null and void and dragging that story out for 4 years ... and also behaving as if they don't have to follow anything that comes out of the next administration. Also they will hope to win AFTER the next 4 years and use all the illegitimacy of the previous 4 years as an excuse to enact all kinds of lunatic crap in order to 'undo the 4 illegal years'. Change the makeup of the courts etc because by then Trump will have appointed a couple more.

Got a crisis? Get a bigger crisis.

Thank the Lord it’s what they always do. It’s why they have the kinds of vote totals that they have. Hopefully, they have already maxed out on their tricks. They used up a lot of nasty tricks in 2016.

i.e. In Dim run counties, where every elected office is controlled by Dims, and the Dim run po po keeping a watchful eye on integrity of ballots (joke inserted for laugh out loud kicks), they have already revealed they are not above reporting 110% (see St. Lucie County and Broward County, Florida) ballots cast for Dims.

Don’t know how much more they expect to be able to outdo that by(?). Anyway, I do take solace that they have already been engaging in massive voter fraud just to lose. Must suck to be them.
