White House coronavirus task force coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said that she wished Americans had been forced into a total lockdown the way Italy was early in the pandemic.
Speaking with the media Monday, Dr. Birx said: 'I wish that when we went into lockdown, we looked like Italy.'
Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte imposed a nationwide quarantine on March 9, closing all non-essential businesses. The quarantine did not begin to loosen until the middle of April, with 'Phase 2' re-opening beginning in early May, although travel restrictions were still in effect.

Maybe she needs to put the blame on Fauci who in early Feb said the US doesn’t need to worry it will have little effect. Maybe she needs to site several Dem Reps who were encouraging Chinese festival to go on during early covid in Feb and March.Maybe she needs rake Fauci over the coals for saying masks aren’t needed.

Any government official who comes out and publicly calls for a shutdown of even a single business should be forced to surrender all forms of compensation -- including salary and benefits -- for the entire duration of the shutdown. This country has no business accepting this sh!t where people who live at the taxpayers' expense impose these haphazard restrictions while they don't stand to lose a damn thing under these government edicts.

....I used to have a lot of respect for her, but no longer....she said very recently that we should all be wearing masks, indoors AND outdoors, which is a crock..
I am no physician (I don’t even play one on teevee...) but
wearing a mask outdoors seems absurd...there is almost always some level of breeze blowing, and wearing a face diaper would seem to be unnecessary.... as far as a total lockdown is concerned, our economy is just now struggling to get back to some sort of normalcy...a total lockdown would have ruined it months ago.....
Funny, I frequently speak with a girl who lives in Italy. She has yet to mention the “Strict Restrictions on Movement”. I also seem to recall that when this scam first started the media was showing the stores in Italy with no food. My fried also failed to mention this to me.
I last saw her in March, she flew from NJ to Paris, then to Rome and was able to rent a car and drive to her town. I seem to think there were “Strict Restrictions” in place at that time also.
WE need to begin hearing a lot more from the newly appointed DR Atlas. Atlas is easily as credentialed as the fascist Fauci and is against most all of what the fascist has recommended.
