John Kasich and other Republicans to speak in favor of Biden at Democratic convention
Yahoo News ^ | August 17, 2020 | Crystal Hill

Several former Republican leaders are slated to speak on the first night of this year’s Democratic National Convention, including former U.S. New York Rep. Susan Molinari, who once spoke at the Republican National Convention, and former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a frequent Trump critic who ran for president in 2016.

Former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and former Hewlett Packard CEO Meg Whitman are also on the list of GOP speakers expected to give remarks virtually on Monday night.

Democratic National Committee spokeswoman Xochitl Hinojosa told the Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery” on Monday that the theme of the convention is uniting America.

“We believe that it’s important that we make sure we’re including everyone and not excluding everyone,” Hinojosa told Yahoo News. “We understand that regardless of who you voted for in 2016, or whether you voted in a Democratic primary, or whether you have never voted all, it’s important to bring everybody together. That’s the only way we win.”

Whitman, the first Republican speaker listed in the Democrats’ announcement, was New Jersey’s governor from 1994 to 2001 and served as the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency under President George W. Bush.

Molinari, who served in Congress in the 1990s and was a top GOP leader, was the keynote speaker at the Republican convention in 1996. She slammed then-President Bill Clinton’s leadership during her speech, telling the crowd that his “promises have the life span of a Big Mac on Air Force One.”

The former Google lobbyist also donated money to a nonprofit handling President Trump’s transition in 2017, the Center for Public Integrity reported.

When asked how the DNC landed Molinari, Hinojosa said people are “frustrated with Donald Trump right now.”

They were always soft Republicans easily moved by the media narrative and agenda that slandered the GOP as “uncaring”, when it has always been the Dim policies that cared only about using every possible group with feigned empathy to buy votes for their power, power that delivered the government plantation society instead of growing the economic pie for everyone.

Nobody cares about endorsements these days, in 2016 major newspapers endorsed Hillary something like 218-2 as I recall and it didn’t do her any good.

The GOP needs to sue him for pretending to be a Republican. . . come to think of it, they need to sue Romney for the same reason.

A bunch of 90s retreads that were all called racist and sexist by the same people.

I was a teenager when these people were big names. Meg Whitman was never a big name.

What’s really funny is that these “Republicans” think suddenly Democrats will like them.

They still hate them, but they’ll use them, for their purposes.

The only time I can remember an effective speech by a member of the opposing party is when DEM Zell Miller spoke in favor of Bush at the RNC 2004 convention.

No one can ever forget his Kerry Spitballs!!!!!

Good idea! The Republican speakers at Joe Biden’s convention are all pro China. They are in sync with Biden/Harris, Big Business, Hollywood, and media conglomerates. China, China, China!

Christine Todd Whitman...did not win the GOV. of NJ by any large margins...she only won by a percentage point...
She is almost 74, husband now deceased and she had NO children but her husband had two...so she claims step children...and step grandchildren...

the other Whitman is a billionaire worth $3 B...she is 64...with two kids...

both envious and jealous of DJT...AND THAT IS KASICK TOTAL PROBLEM WITH DJT.. BET HE CHANGES PARTIES AND RUNS FOR CONGRESS...his past association with a former Congress person should be exposed...I’m sure his twin daughters would enjoy the info. but maybe John already shared his side of that mess...voters still remember CHANDRA LEVY...

GOP-E is dead by suicide. Finished. Kaput. Totally Yesterday! Deader than the Whig Party, ha!

Watch for PDJT to organize a replacement party soon after his re-election. One that has some morality, ethics for a change. Which begins by simply not inviting the slimeballs and liars like Kasick and Mitt (alas, how hard I worked for him!) and similar unprincipled garbage.
