The idea is to have millions of people voting for her based entirely on her sex/race. Those people don’t care about her policies or ideology.
With those people nothing else matters than shallow surface characteristics.
I just got off the phone with my super-liberal girlfriend. Although she dislikes Trump, she says she no longer gives a damn about the gender or race of a candidate. She probably will vote for Biden, but only because she dislikes Trump, and not because she particularly likes Harris.
Maybe it's me, but I sense that the world has moved on since 2016, when Hillary seemed entitled to the presidency because of her gender and she accused female Trump voters of "internalized misogyny."
No one on the right, or with any level maturity, cares about race or gender. But it seems that the Democrats can't let go. Hearing about the people on tonight's convention -- Sanders, Obama, Cortez -- I get the feeling like they're stuck in the past, a past that now seems childish.
