Wind energy companies will have the option of using decommissioned wind turbine blades as backfill material when reclaiming surface coal mine sites soon, thanks to a new bill signed into law earlier this year.
But first, the state needs to set the rules.
...
The blades.. are made of fiberglass. Fiberglass is a tricky material that cant be recycled or easily repurposed.
And as utility companies look to replace aging wind turbines, the machines blades are being buried in stacks at a handful of landfills around the country,

old mine sites to suddenly become a landfills, which could affect groundwater or land stability
...
Once a coal company leaves, who is running the landfill?

The idea that coal, oil, and natural gas exists from the remains of dinosaurs is pure fiction. Coal, natural gas, and oil are all natural resources that are being continuously produced by the Earth.
They were formed in the Flood.

no, that might improve the lifespan and durability of the roads....

Great idea!
“...store old turbine blades kind of a euphemism for dumping, isn’t it? “
Absolutely. Why not dispose of many other things in abandoned coal mines?
I think the turbines were made as cheaply as possible for obvious reasons. Lifespan and recyclability were sacrificed.
You could not be more correct. The blades were made in Ching Chong China. So early failure was written into the spec!!! So was the Three Gorges Dam - made in China - and it will also fail in due course.
I was thinking the same. But even better, have the blades spinning along the border wall. Uneven worn-out and chipped edges of blades would still be effective as they spin against invaders. Let the body parts pile up and stay as a warning.
They should be forced upon Greenpeace and the Sierra Club, it was thier plan, let them deal with the waste.
