RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wake County man says he's the target of hate mail because of his support for President Donald Trump.
Joe Nodine received an unsigned letter Wednesday comparing the Trump sign in his yard to a swastika and likening him and other Trump supporters to members of the Ku Klux Klan.
Nodine, who also flies a Trump flag outside his front door, said he allowed the local Trump re-election campaign to put a large sign supporting the president in his front yard along Strickland Road.
"Our boys from Philly do not like or tolerate Klansmen who support an impeached, corrupt adulterer and treacherous conman responsible for the death of 150,000 Americans," the letter said in an apparent reference to the coronavirus pandemic. "On behalf of all North Raleigh residents, we demand that you remove that disgusting Nazi sign, or it will be done for you."
The letter was in a manila envelope addressed "To the resident" that also included anti-Trump political cartoons and editorials.

"I am disgusted by it," he said of the language in the letter. "It just really makes me mad, but you know, I got that right to get mad, I guess."
He called the Wake County Sheriff's Office but was told that, because there was no explicit threat to him or his family in the letter, deputies really couldn't do anything.
If someone does remove his signs and flags, authorities told him, that person could be charged with trespassing and theft.

As much as the left dislikes Trump we disliked Obama and still do. Yet I do not remember repubs spitting on their food or beating up anyone with a Obama hat or shouting Obama supporters out of restaurants. I also do not EVER remember conservative college students violently shouting down liberal speakers off campus. All I read about is liberals shouting conservative speakers off campus (claiming ANY speech they do not agree with as hate speech). I also do not see repubs tearing apart booths re abortion of the lefists. Leftists destroy pro-life booths by tearing apart their personal property. No repub can have a conservative view without the dems destroying it. Repubs do not do that to dems.
