The bean scene was. :)
I got news for HBO and #BLM.
In Blazing Saddles, the hero and all of the smart people are ‘black’. All the whites (except Gene Wilder’s character) are either idiots, evil, or evil idiots. Blazing Saddles is among the most anti-racist movies I have ever seen.
“Where da white wymun at?”
Do da Do da!
The black lead character is smart and a leader.
The white people are stupid and are made fun of the whole movie.
The movie is mocking racists and racism in general and its one of my favorite movies and I own it.
But they make the point that white folks in it are narrow-minded and small thinking. They know they are referring to midwesterners and Southerners. And it’s disgusting. And I think we should all call in and just have the movie banned. None of this b******* halfway with something at the beginning. Force their hand.
The message didn’t specify, just some BS like “attitudes have changed since this movie was made”, blah, blah, blah. There was an older black man (”Porterhouse”) in the movie that some mildly disparaging comment was made about, but who responded in a feisty, “FU” way...maybe that’s what they were carrying on about. Or maybe that men reacted to attractive women like...well, like normal men do. IDK, just politically correct, obligatory virtue-signaling idiocy.
I saw it many years ago. I did think parts of it were funny. But I also remember walking out before the end because I did feel like it was kind of racist. I wasn't trying to protest. That's just the impression I got from it.
I remember one scene where the town had a welcome sign for the new sheriff and when they see that he is black, the sign rolls up like an old window shade. OK, that part is funny and maybe "anti-racist" as you say. But something else about the overall film didn't seem right to me. I just checked and they did have at least one black writer: Richard Pryor. Maybe I'm just a snowflake.
They still haven’t realized that they’ve (the black community) turned people off by creating issues where there are none....But that’s what victim minded people do.....they turn everything into what’s affecting them at any given moment.

I sometimes missed a joke.. They went by so fast! My boyfriend pointed out the “pretend its your Secretary” line about getting the pencil in the sharpener. Hahaha
Some FReeper made the joke they could edit anything that offends anyone from such films as Blazing Saddles and Airplane!——With 5 minute films plus credits and production license data at the end.
In other words, they're exactly like the purveyors of dog twaddle espoused by BLM and Antifa.
“I’m melting!” You’re good. Different folks, different takes.
That's me. DVDs of 1950s-1960s detective and cop series, the less than PC comedy classics. Documentaries on founding fathers (most of them). WWII movies and Why We Fight by Frank Capra. Biography of Ronald Reagan. I am an outlaw. Alert me when the troopers are on the way and I'll dive into the fallout shelter clutching the dvds.
“Do we have to explain EVERYTHING to the modern dummies? Cant they figure anything out on their own?”
the perpetually offended do not want to understand- they want to be offended
Mel Brooks made the statement that he could not make that movie today.
Its twoo, so twoo,
