MADISON, Wis. Downtown Madison didnt need more bad news. State Street, the heart and soul of the capital city typically bustling with university students and tourists in the stores, bars, and restaurants up and down its pedestrian mall now struck down by economic hardship, offers just a glimpse of the countless businesses around the country struggling to stay afloat in 2020.
As if the endless suffering of this tumultuous year COVID-19, lockdowns, shutdowns, riots, and scared customers werent enough, downtown Madison businesses on Tuesday learned the Big 10 is canceling its fall sports season. Now the bars, restaurants, retailers, and service providers so dependent on University of Wisconsin-Madison football fans wont have the Badgers to bank on.

Madison is a big lib city anyway. Screw them.
As designed by all the Shutdown Nazi Governors who are really behind this.
Communists DON’T CARE about a few broken eggs.
That’s the plan. The progs want to make Wisconsin pay for voting for Trump in 2016
Conspiracy!
Communists DONT CARE about a few MILLION broken eggs.
My concern is for the thousands of small businesses spreading from Pennsylvania>Michigan>Ohio>Indiana>Illinois>Iowa>Minnesota>Nebraska>as well as Wisconsin. Is Rutgers in the Big10 these days, too ? I think it’s 12.

confirming Rutgers, and U of Maryland in suburban DC.
12 in the BIG10

Two of the top research institutions in the world in two of the largest media markets in country. You realize the B1G doubled their TV revenue by bringing in Maryland and Rutgers?
Of course you don’t, because you’re an idiot.
It isn’t just Wisconsin..
Many Midwest college towns have entire families who work home games in the concessions. Some have dad those contracts for over 20 years, and are part of the landscape to the attendees of the games.
The BI 10 was formed by location.
Rutgers and Maryland don’t belong.
Neither school has any significant following and both are completely unable to compete with other Big Ten schools on the football field.
Schools shutting down sports is a good first step. Now they need to purge the diversity bureaucracy.

Its always good to hear from an informed FR newcomer
Wrong. Both would have made the NCAA tournament last year and Rutgers has the largest following in the largest media market in the country.
You just have no idea what you are talking about. It was a grand slam money wise for the B1G to admit these two schools. It was about getting the B1G Network on the cable carriers in NY,NJ,DC, Philadelphia and Baltimore.
Also, the research money dwarfs football money.
