The week before I married on my familys homestead in Alaska, we found out Sarah Palin had been picked to be Sen. John McCains vice-presidential running mate.
This was big news for Alaska. Nearly everyone we knew was thrilled, even people who werent huge Palin fans. At the time, Palin was a popular governor whod made a name for herself fighting a corrupt good ol boys system that had prevailed for too long in state politics. She was a Republican, but seen as a moderate who was willing to work with Democrats and take on powerful special interests, including the oil companies that held sway in the state capitol. People liked her, even if they didnt always agree with her politics.

Palin derangement syndrome was real. . because she was a REAL threat to the establishment. Her agenda should she have ever become president would have crushed the K Street bottom feeders. She had to be destroyed.
Kamala got married for the first time just two months shy of her 50th birthday.
It was also less than six months before she announced her run for the Senate. I wonder if she thought her electability would be better as a married person.
What did she post?
Who will be Kamala’s VP?
Ditto.....what did she post?
and she married a white guy
“””Where Kamala stands out is that she is the first to not have any children.””””
Who would breed that???
Plus her husband is a honky. I wonder how much we will see of him. NONE.
“Who will be Kamalas VP?”
Likely someone with Indian Big Data connections.
I will definitely look that up.
of course not.
But if some Democrats kids behaved like that it would not have been as accepted here on FR.
That witch Nicolle WallAss stabbed Palin in the back.
Now, she has a TV show.
We are and have been at war with the establishment for quite some time, and they have only one rule, do whatever it takes get and maintain power at any cost ...
Where Kamala stands out is that she is the first to not have any children.
And, being sworn in to office as one race, then, running for VP as another race.
“””One reason—she looks almost as white as he does.... “””
But she identifies as black, so there’s that.
Agreed. Being a Democrat these days reminds me of people I knew in high school back in the MTV 1980s and all that they cared about was image.
They cant be bargained with, they cant be reasoned with, they dont feel pity, remorse, or fear, and absolutely will not stop ever - until America is DEAD.
“I was not (and never was) a supporter of McCain but I like the feisty Governor from Alaska.”
I believe many GOPs voted for Palin and not McCain. I was one. I loved Sarah!
The RATs who criticized her did it because she was GOP.
The GOPs who criticized her didn’t, and still don’t, understand her. It’s almost impossible to understand her if you don’t understand Alaskans. I lived there for 20 years, and its OK to be brash, bold, weird, and outlandish. They’re tolerant in a good way in that there’s true freedom of speech; you can say anything, even if non-PC, without being annihilated. (This may be not be the case now. I left in the late ‘80s.)
Her audacious speech and actions were normal considering where she grew up. That honesty is totally foreign to outsiders.
When I moved to the lower 48, I learned quickly that the freedoms I had up there did NOT exist anywhere else.
