CHICAGO (CBS)– Dozens of stores, banks and other businesses were broken into across downtown Chicago overnight.
The unrest started around 11 p.m. Sunday and cause of the unrest is still unknown at this time, but it does appear to be a coordinated effort. VIdeo shows multiple cars parked on the streets as people ran out and broke into stores.
Bridges surrounding The Loop are closed to traffic. Expressway ramps leading into the downtown area are also shut down.
The Best Buy at North and Clybourn was destoyed by looters. Boxes and debris from stolen merchandise were strewn across the parking lot. “Everything is complete chaos,” reports CBS 2’s Jeanette Hudson. The damage looked more like a torndao had hit the area.

Mass chaos in downtown Chicago. Hundred of people looting stores. Looters broke into a bank and ripped out the atm. They are trying to break into it. This is at State and Lake.

The locals we are talking about here are not made of the same stuff. They are mostly urban hipsters and older well off idiots who moved into the city for it’s “diversity”, “vibrancy”, and nightlife. Filthy liberal democrats all who coudn’t fight their way out of a tissue paper bag. The rioters aren’t pulling this shit in China Town, Vietnamese or Mexican neighborhoods.
I have to laugh when liberals, as some of my in-laws are, carry on about diversity.

My son used to work at an Ivy League school and had an Indian guy tell him that sure, it’s racially diverse, but it’s basically an echo chamber. One opinion allowed.
The guy worked at other places that were not so racially diverse but had a great deal more diversity of THOUGHT.

They’re buying time to try to figure out what white wing supremacist group to blame for it.
In the earlier summer riots, the peaceful protestors reportedly threw hammers through second story windows, not sure it they reached higher or not.
Not much of a stretch to imagine a few nimble ones scaling up with some climbing equipment, or busting in through fire escapes.

Some apartment buildings in NYC are empty while all residents have gone to the country or the Hamptons. A team of “protesters” could take its time without worrying about the police.
