The Green Bay Packers wont allow fans into Lambeau Field for their first two home games of the 2020 NFL season because of the coronavirus pandemic, the team announced Thursday.
The decision means the Packers iconic stadium will remain empty in Week 2 against the NFC North rival Detroit Lions and Week 4 versus the Atlanta Falcons on ESPNs Monday Night Football.

And computer generated fans the way they have been doing on European soccer matches?
Yes. They are billions of dollars of the US economy and enable tens of thousands of jobs.
That is ~ a $70M revenue hit per home game for the Packers and a ~$20M hit to the local economy per game..
“I wonder if the luxury suites are also closed? Will the front office be allowed to view the game? Will their families?”
I wonder if anyone will know.
We stopped watching a few years before the politics hit with Kaepernick, etc. The NFL has ruined the game with too many interruptions and they’ve lost the “in the moment celebration” of great plays because too many plays are now questioned, examined and sometimes overturned.
I lived in Michigan for 5 1/2 years so I feel your pain.
We had Rodney Peete and Andre Ware on the roster as quarterbacks, and by Game Four some white guy off the waiver wire was always starting.
I know, I was born 35 miles from Green Bay.
Life long fan until the NFL went anti-American.
Wait a minute. IIRC, Packers are owned by the people of Green Bay. Did they ban themselves?
Management. Just sayin’.
it was said a few years ago that nfl, nba, mlb are over-saturated with games available during season,, making it not so special like it used to be..
nfl thursday night, sunday day/night, monday night, saturday games in the uk,
Screw the nfl. Their embracing anti-American values is disgusting. Hopefully, they will go out of business.
“Pretty good chance it would have been empty against the Lions anyway.”
Now, that’s something Alex Karras would have said. Good job.
Listen, Peeps. I am a die-hard Packer Fan, good years and bad, since 1963 when I was old enough to figure out the game.
I will always be a Reggie White Girl, and was simply AMAZED the two times I got to see games at Lambeau Field. It was like being in church.
If you really like the game, I encourage all of you that aren’t quite ready to let go, to cheer for the Green Bay Packers. We are the ONLY team in the NFL that is sole OWNED by their fans.
When that ends, ALL football ends for me.
UW Madison Badger Football (college) will be played but with NO fans in the seats. FOR THE WHOLE SEASON.
Wisconsin is in mourning - but it’s soon to get seriously p*ssed because this @#$%^&*! PLAN-demic is doing so much damage to us all - mind, body and soul.
Mrs rktman was born in milwacky so she bleeds packer blood as well. Also loved Reggie. Sad dang situation.
I grew up in Milwaukee, too. We moved out in 1970 when Dad moved up the Work Food Chain.
My Grandma was the biggest Brewers Fan Ever. We spent many Mother’s Day Opening Game in our snowmobile suits at Brown County Stadium and the Packers alternated between Brown County and Lambeau Field for a number of years to spread the Fan Love around the state.
*SIGH*
Socialists/SJWs Ruin Everything. :(
The NFL players, coaches, and owners - they're all pawns. They're useful idiots. They simply do not realize that the Communist Left wants them destroyed because sports represent racial harmony and capitalism.
I live here in Packer country, near Green Bay actually. It's just sad that on Sundays people aren't going to get together and knock down a few brews and tailgate this year.
She was in Oak Creek until her dad got transferred to New Orleans in 78(?).
Oak Creek is nice - peaceful and safe. I still have family living there. :)
