Yep. He did not care to do anything to really fix the problem. Only virtue signal how good it was to ignore the law and safety of the American people.

It used to be that criticizing W on freerepublic would get you violently flamed, if not booted off. Especially if you criticized w’s Iraq War. I was only a lurker, but had friends who were scorched by the flames

W was treated like a GOD by a lot of freepers. And it was sacriligeous to call him out for blunders or stupidity. Remember the sarcastic Hannity line that Freepers spouted like robots? “Right, it’s Bush’s fault”. For these folks, NOTHING was Bush’s fault

Early on in the 2016 election cycle , quite a few Freepers were incensed that Trump had the audacity to remind people that 911 happened on Bush’s watch. Trump said it was ridiculous to claim “ Bush kept us safe” , while ignoring that Bush was president when 911 happened

Same as you guys. We thought he was better than Gore/Kerry, and he did cut taxes... and appoint Alito. But other than that, he was and is a disaster. The Bushes, father and son, did a lot of damage to the country and are bear large responsibility for the country’s sorry state. I remember well how great things were during the Reagan years, and how the country very much seemed to be headed in the right direction after RR’s two terms. Reagan’s greatest mistake was caving to the GOP establishment and accepting GHWB on the ‘80 ticket.

Yeah, gotta admit he sure had me fooled.

I know an injured Iraq war vet and his family that Bush has kept in touch with. That says good things about him as a person, but he never should have been POTUS.

Seems like the GOP is just incapable of nominating good candidates unless a Trump or a Reagan manages to override the system.

I don’t know if the tax payers realize it, but they are footing the bills for each female illegal to have an average of 5 kids a piece. They are then paying for food, medical care and enough schools to house them in. That’s in addition to subsidized housing and subsidized mortgages. That is only about 25% of what we end up paying for. They increase exponentially. The tax payers can’t afford anymore. The piggy bank is empty. Bush needs to pay for them all if he wants them in here and house them on Bush property.

I did the first, but not the second. I used to earn the ire of the Bushbots pretty regularly around here. Those were some bleak years.

GW was raised with gentle, grateful, respectful Hispanics in the house as staff & landscapers when he was growing up.

He has never had face to face exposure to the Feral invaders of today.

He never had to dodge the invaders at the local Home Depot or at an intersection in Los Angeles. I can tell him the other side of the coin.

Like how bad could Gore have really screwed this country up, huh? When a 2 party system offers no good choices, ya got to go with your gut... and have a barf bag handy.

I’m proud that I saw him for exactly what he was in 1999.

He was such a milk-toast wet towel, that he couldn’t beat
the likes of Al Gore convincingly.

New jobs went to 1% and change during his two terms in
office. For forty years it had been close to 18-19%.

Strange thing is, the same thing happened in his dad’s term
in office. I don’t think it was quite as bad, but it was
bad.

Those two dolts didn’t have one economic clue between them.
