We are a nation of immigrants and their descendants. Even the native tribes are descended from hunter gatherers who migrated from Siberia during the last ice age. But they, and all immigrants until the 1960's, arrived ready and willing to earn their keep or with wealth in hand. Stuttering-drunk Bush Junior ran and hid on 9-11. Then he covered up his Saudi patrons’ role in it. (while whisking them out of the country). Then he got thousands of Americans killed and maimed in order to rid the Saudis of a rival (while Saudi young men hung out in shopping malls).
But none of that wretched behavior causes him grief. What grieves him today is that, despite multiple attempts, he was unable to accomplish his dreamed-of obliteration of the United States via a de-facto merger with Mexico.
