Letitia James filed the lawsuit in New York on Thursday alleging fraud
She claims Wayne LaPierre, the NRA's Executive Vice President, and three others misused funds for years
LaPierre allegedly used company money to fly his family around on private jets
More than half a million dollars was spent getting them to and from the Bahamas, the lawsuit claims
James is a vocal Trump critic and is also opposed to firearms
She said on Thursday the lawsuit had nothing to do with her political beliefs and was down to fraud, but she said she was still probing NRA political donations
The NRA is one of Trump's biggest endorsers and donors; in 2016 it gave Trump's campaign $30million
It is among the organizations trying to secure Trump's re-election in November
James is now trying to aggressively pursue restitution from the NRA
She says the fraud committed amounts to losses of more than $64million
The NRA filed a countersuit claiming it is being unfairly targeted
Trump called James' lawsuit 'terrible' and told the NRA: 'Move to Texas'

If anything it’s going to drive more people to the polls.
In the earlier post on this topic, I called it exactly that way.
Actually SHE’S HELPING TRUMP GET RE-ELECTED!.....................SHHHHHHHHHHHH! DON’T TELL ANYBODY!..................
Remove these traitors to their Constitutional oath from office.
more voters wont do anything if they can lose our ballots in the mail
Remember when they went after the Clinton Foundation for fraud and abuse?
Me neither.
By those standards, one could try to dissolve Planned Abortionhood, SPLC, and any number of other large “non-profit” organizations. Oh, I almost forgot the Klinton Crime Family Foundation.
Bad timing, Madame Letitia. You choose right now, when several cities are in the middle of socialist riots to talk about shutting down the NRA? Go ahead, knock yourself out.
You may find far more people (of all colors) in favor of Second Amndmt. issues and supportive of the NRA than you ever expected.
Wonder if she really said that, being a lawyer, or a uninformed reporter. I don't believe a corporation including a nonprofit can make political contributions. Other than to a PAC, which can make limited campaign contributions. I'm sure the attorney general of NY believes in the 1st amendment, so she can't possibly be referring to issue ads. Issues are what organizations like the NRA are about.
The one growing issue that a lot of NRA members and former members have had with the NRA is the abuse of funds. If they're forced to clean up their act, they may have a lot of former members return.
I let my NRA membership lapse and joined the Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), but I would also rejoin the NRA if they'd cut the nonsense and fight the unconstitutional infringements better.
This is but 1 reason, in a LONG list of reasons, that will be driving more people (especially conservatives) to the polls.
In fact, this reason (attack on NRA) wont even be top 5, maybe not even top 10.
She should stay away from Water and Walls
Why is an attorney general filing a law suit. She has law enforcement officers to investigate and then she can file charges. Seems like a political move instead of a legal process. But that’s what Dems do isn’t it.
Yups. Thanks, Letitia.
I’ve already seen one obviously liberal friend of a FB friend say that this will help more than hurt Trump.
Every Molotov cocktail thrown, every window smashed, every store looted, every cop injured is another vote for Trump...................
I suspect sarcasm... but just in case...
I am not at all sure the AG of New York believes the First Amendment is a good idea...
Wayne LaPierre has to go. He’s done more damage to the NRA than the Liberals ever could.
