Newspaper political endorsements are almost meaningless in the internet era, but this one is different. The StarTribune is the largest newspaper in Minnesota and s with almost all metropolitan dailies, the Strib is progressive and supports Democrats. The paper has distinguished itself by largely ignoring the many irregularities in the personal and political history of Rep. Ilhan Omar, who represents Minneapolis, where the paper is located.
Scott Johnson of Powerline has distinguished himself with his best-in-the-nation coverage of Omar’s scandals and the abandonment of most of these stories by her district’s largest newspaper.
The abdication of the Star Tribune is perhaps the most notable element of this whole matter. The paper’s most read story of 2019 documented the deep fraudulence and dishonesty on which Omar’s career is predicated, yet the Star Tribune’s coverage of the primary race and related issues has been cursory at best. Minneapolis is at a tipping point and yet the paper’s editorial voice has remained silent on the madness in the DFL, of which Omar is the foremost proponent. The editors don’t want to be hated by Omar’s hateful fans. They want to be liked. Their cowardice is total.
I’d like to think that Scott’s truthful accusation stung the paper’s editors, but perhaps it is just their inability to stomach her channeling of vast amounts of campaign cash to her third husband whose firm serves as her campaign consultant and books its advertising, on which healthy commissions are paid. But whatever the reason, the paper has just endorsed her primary opponent in the lection slated for next Tuesday.

Well that race will be interesting to watch..... though I agree keeping Ilhan in has a certain advantage in that the Dems continue to ‘hose’ themselves.
But in looking at this guys background he doesn’t carry the lefts ideology 100%. Law enforcement is one example.
Movita Johnson-Harrell seemed to take pride in her position as the first Muslim woman elected to the Pennsylvania State Legislature.
Now that record will forever have an asterisk next to it, as Johnson-Harrell has turned herself in to Pennsylvania attorney general Josh Shapiro's office, pleading guilty on charges of perjury, record-tampering, and embezzling over $500,000 in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security disability funds, as well as donations to Motivations Education and Consultation Associates (MECA), a charity she established to allegedly serve the ility funds, as well as donations to Motivations Education and Consultation Associates (MECA), a charity she established to allegedly serve the mentally ill and drug addicted poor in her predominately African-American neighborhood. In a press conference, Attorney General Shapiro described Johnson-Harrell's actions as "brazen corruption ... her theft knew no bounds." Johnson-Harrell stole funds that personally belonged to the residents of her facilities and used the money to purchase fox furs and trips to Mexico, to make payments on a Porsche, to pay delinquent utility bills, to cover her granddaughter's private school tuition, and even to fund her political campaign.
After the facility, where residents were living in squalor, was closed, Johnson-Harrell continued collecting their rent from MECA even though the facilities were no longer operating.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Johnson-Harrell's dereliction of duty extended to her short time as a Pennsylvania state representative. During her brief period in office, Johnson-Harrell seemed to spend the majority of her time celebrating herself as the first Muslim woman elected to the state Legislature, and helping to fundraise and advocate for the Hamas-linked Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Satire-—The Representative denies she has done anything wrong, but pleads guilty “to avoid even greater persecution for my religious beliefs. Allah gave all the world to Muslims. He gave us dominion over unbelievers. When voters elected me they were showing the submission called for in the Quran. Money is jizya owed by unbelievers to the Muslim faithful for letting them live while they refuse to convert. All transgressions visited upon me by unbelievers will be repaid with a righteous vengeance when Muslims gain full control over the US government.
Makes no difference, which proponent of sharia law wins this election.
