Does it feel like youre walking on eggshells lately when talking about politics? Youre not alone. A new national survey of 2,000 Americans I conducted at the Cato Institute finds that 62 percent of Americans say the political climate these days prevents them from saying what they believe because others might find it offensive. This share is up from 58 percent in 2017.
Notably, self-censorship is not a partisan issue. Majorities of Democrats (52 percent), Independents (59 percent), and Republicans (77 percent) all agree they have political views they are afraid to share.

Because antifa members will roll you in the street with a bat.
I don’t want to lose my job
Someone asks you about Politics just Smile and walk away
yep, we aren’t free to express ourselves, because we might offend some leftists, who will in turn go after us.
Thank God we still have the secret ballot in this country.
People are afraid to wear a red ball cap.
Or bash your car with a bat.
YES it is, look at the percentages. The Democrats do not respect diversity of thought and are political bullies, everything these hypocrites boast they are not.
Because the left has far too many sociopaths.
So don’t talk politics. Talk about concepts. Talk about Liberty.
So don’t talk politics. Talk about concepts. Talk about Liberty.
Or mercilessly doxx your spineless employer to get you fired.
Democrats are worried? BS. They are the most vocal, most strident of all and are never afraid to put it out there. I’ve been offended so many times by them at work, but never once did I think about going to HR to complain about a “hostile work environment” because I knew HR was full of extreme lefties and they would fire ME for complaining.
My sister teaches math to middle school kids. At a “back to school” meeting this week, the administrators asked “What did you learn in 2020?” One typical lib said “I learned that Trump will never make America great.” My sister was deeply offended and upset, but she can’t say a word.
I wear my Red cap from "The Squire Restaurant" in Chatham Cape Cod MA on occasion. the people in my laundry were so afraid they didn't even look up to see it was a restaurant bird on the hat.
Recently reconnected with high school friend. I just knew that their politics were hard left and I said I would discuss everything except politics. I just would not go there. That’s not what they wanted in the revived relationship. One telephone conversation and see you again in 50 years.
I’ve got a gorgeous red cap from the Heber Cheese company in Utah. I won’t wear it.
There’s a difference between discretion and cowardice.
