“I’m About Done With This Crap”: Documents, Voicemail Show Prosecutors Pressured Detective Into Signing Off On McCloskey Charges

If police determined that at least one person in the mob on Mark and Patricia McCloskey’s property was armed, another labeled “Human Shield,” and several issued threats against the couple … then why were they charged at all? Local NBC affiliate KSDK reported last week that documents and a voicemail show that Kimberly Gardner’s office pressured the lead detective on the case to “quickly reassess this evidence,” and when that didn’t work, threatened his supervisor with bad publicity unless the detective relented. That puts the prosecution of the McCloskeys in an even more questionable light — and likely makes it impossible to boot (via Tom Knighton at Bearing Arms):

This is why they need to file a whopping civil rights suit against the city as well as prosecutor individually. I would also allege a hate crime and improper racial motivation in that they were targeted because they were white and the prosecutor was black. Demand punitives and that the prosecutor go through anti-racism sensitivity training.

The problem is that prosecutors and judges have qualified immunity. This is how they can act recklessly against defendants due process rights and get away with it.

There is no real basis for this. You really need to contort the 14th amendment to come up with this crap.

I can’t fathom as to why an independent judiciary is so respected by the public. Sure I understand why judges and prosecutors like the secrecy and lack of accountability, no real checks & balances.

This independence might be problematic at the state level but it’s a disaster at the Federal level.

Convenient how this comes out the day AFTER she wins her primary.

I guarantee that if it was a black couple being charged for defending themselves during the Obama Regime, that is exactly what they would have done. Everyone involved would have faced Federal Civil Rights indictments.

Will Bagpipes do that?

You already know the answer.

White people don't have Civil Rights.

The article ends with saying that the Soros backed CA Gardner won her primary re-nomination yesterday:

The election took place yesterday, just days after Gardner and Hinckley strong-armed the police department into signing off on the probable-cause statement. Guess who won?

Want to bet that the first line of defense for the McCloskeys will be pointing out the political pressure exerted by Gardner’s office in relation to the primary two weeks out? Especially since Det. Burgdorf’s continuing investigation has produced evidence that the mob actually did threaten the McCloskeys, was armed, and broke the gate to get onto their private property? At some point, a judge should demand to know why Gardner and Hinckley rushed to judgment and threatened police to get an indictment before the investigation had reached an end.

That will only be a rhetorical question, of course. The answer is obvious now. But now it’s moot anyway, since Gardner got what she wanted out of the exercise — renomination, and a walkover in November. What a disgrace.

We knew the prosecution was false. The prosecutor and all the democrats who misused the power of law enforcement are guilty of a serious crime, and need to be jailed for life.

Yes. They want to put this innocent couple in jail for the crimes committed by their attackers. By using the coercive power of government for their own ends, they are committing a heinous felony.

This is WHY Soros recruited and paid for his prosecutors and Secretaries of State in those many elections across the US - To BUY their political loyalty to be ready when needed.

Roberts too up on the Supreme Court.

And if we use said guns, we will be the ones arrested, prosecuted, and incarcerated. Look what’s happened to the couple in this article.

Multiply the McCloskeys by 3,000,000, when things get significantly worse, and there will be blood-unfortunately a lot.

The McCloskys were the perfect targets...rich, white and GUN OWNERS! This was planned for some time. The democrats are all about symbolism. The McCloskys were the perfect symbol of everything the democrats detest.

You can see that the democrats had BIG PLANS for this case. This goes far beyond this. This couple was selected so that they would be the perfect example for people who dared to protect themselves. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t! If you don’t defend yourself you are at the mercy of the mob. If you defend yourself you will be arrested and treated like you are the criminal! Rock and a hard place. That is where they want to put all of us. This was a scare tactic to make Americans feel helpless. It was a message to the WHOLE Country! Not just the people of St. Louis.
