So many messages of appalling idiocy, detestable envy, and envy embarrassing to behold, crossed my desk in the last fortnight that I found myself in the rare position of having too much to record — a writer’s dream. But that content also indicated that the bell is tolling, and that I am one of those for whom the death knell sounds.
I have watched the universities of the Western world devour themselves in a myriad of fatal errors over the last two decades, and take little pleasure in observing the inevitable unfold. It is a failing of human reason, with all its limitations, ego, and pretensions, to serve as Cassandra; to derive a certain satisfaction in watching the ship whose demise was foretold breach its hull on rocks hidden from all other observers. The self-righteous pleasure of “I told you so,” is, however, of little comfort when the icy water wends its way around ankle, knee and thigh, threatening to swamp everything still retaining its incalculable and unlikely value, even if it simultaneously makes short shrift of the ignorance and willful blindness that is frequently part and parcel of the death of something once great.

It is the logical progression of things after someone first suggests nothing is certainly true. The western world becomes a very large insane asylum, and the university feeds it.
I realize what Peterson decries is evident everywhere now but I do not understand why. Why is it so important to uphold the banner of political correctness and “diversity” even when it is not edifying or right to do so? I have not found an answer to that question yet.
Glad to see Dr. Jordan Peterson is on the mend and coming back. His straight talk in a world of heavy ‘bravo sierra’ was much missed. Though I don’t believe that he would want to pursue, nor ever would pursue a career in Canadian politics, he would make an excellent Conservative politician! The Conservative (in name only) Party of Canada is in the midst of a leadership convention. The front runner, Peter MacKay, is about as ‘conservative’ as Hussein Oboogaloo. Peterson, a straight shooter, would be a refreshing change from the milquetoast ‘Conservatism’ that exists here in Kanadahar.

The demise of the university was inevitable once they started admitting students who were unqualified for learning rigorous subjects, and then started hiring people to teach non-rigorous subjects to those students.
Unqualified students cannot allow the existence of courses which they know they could never pass, because the existence of such courses points out how unqualified those students are.
That’s why hard sciences professors are being forced to write out DIE statements of fealty to the revolution. Conformity of thought is the decider now.

I find it amazing that the tenure system hasn’t been cancelled yet because it’s racist or privileged or some excuse. The tenure system was the only thing that allowed Jordan Peterson to speak up in the first place without losing his home.It should be their number one target.

I think it's more along the lines of festering since the 80s and we are now seeing the results. The search for truth has been abandoned.
The total denial of the efficacy of HCQ is in my opinion clear evidence we have in fact gone over the edge.

I believe the answer to your question is found in the Frankfurt School of Marxist theory. Political Correctness is the linguistic methodology by which a anti-socialist society can be disrupted, fragmented and destroyed in order to create a socialist cultural mindset. Once the old society is collapsed then the hard sciences will return within the controlled socialist state. If you read the history of the Russian Revolution, the revolutionaries actually went through this cycle.
