Lots of “WE KNOW”. But not a single fact or reason is given. That is how high school kids argue....oh wait, she IS a high school kid! The very people I go to for advice when investing large sums of money....;>)

“Sadie Bograd is a rising high school senior”

“Rising”?

Sounds like a bitter, frustrated, liberal cat-lady in the making.

Every single pediatrician I’ve heard talk about this has said emphatically that kids must go back to school on a normal basis; no distancing, no masks, no split sessions. Teachers can take precautions with each other, but unless they are immune compromised, should have no fear. The American Pediatric Association takes this position firmly, the New England Journal of Medicine takes this position emphatically, and IIRC MSNBC had a panel of six pediatricians on, all of whom took this position on every question they were asked, to the utter befuddled thunderstruckedness of the moron interviewer who didn’t find out the answers to his questions before he asked them...

” But...but...we HAVE to follow the SCIENCE... THE SCIENCE!!!!

Except when it tells us to live normal lives.

Then SCIENCE doesn’t exist.

We all need very, very much to get this information to the people we know. They will not find out unless we show them.

If this dim bulb would have done a little research prior to writing her screed she would know that she is ten times more likely to die in an auto accident than by Covid.

She should have no trouble finding a job with 95% of the news outlets.
Probably trying to make her resume look good by using the high school paper.

They won’t. It will be up to Americans pushing back & the DOJ intervening. I only hope it destroys the grip of the teacher’s union.

Pushing back against what -- closed schools?

Americans who want their kids in school should take it up with their local school boards and the governors who issued the stupid shutdown orders in the first place.

In the meantime, my original point still stands. If it's unsafe to go to church, then it's unsafe to go to school.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing the whole public education system in this country collapse entirely. You're already seeing the first signs of it.

We won’t go back to a school that’s unconcerned with our health and safety.

The young are the sponges of misinformation followed by the slow thinkers and anti logic the CNN viewers on the march.

Pushing back against unreasonable, inequitable and scientifically flawed edicts. Obviously.

I prefer home schooling. I am hoping that this will spur home and parent based schooling, charter schools, charter school access for all as well as schools held to account for student’s education.
I’m hoping it will hamstring the teachers union.

But if the left is going to be successful weaponizing closing school to interfere w/ Trump 2020 then I am going to push back against that political effort. Kids are at very low risk and they should not be used as pawns by either side.

You may want to try private schools they do a better job than private schools.
If kids can’t go to public schools then the state needs to give the parents the money that public schools get so they can afford private schools.

One question for these idiots: Then how in the hell did the Swedes do it - kept the schools open - and the Wuhan Virus data for neither the kids nor the teachers in Sweden demonstrate that it was a mistake, as far as infections or fatalities for the kids or the teachers.

There is no “science” that justifies the schools to have been closed in the first place.

“crowded buildings without protection”

So a mask protects you in the supermarket but won’t protect you in school? If they thought about how irrational that is they’d either quit wearing masks at all (obviously, rationally, if hey can’t help me in school they aren’t helping at the supermarket either), or they’d never go out at all until they get their Utopian vaccine. These people are, by way of the Dims and media induced fear, stuck on stupid.

My first 3 went to private school. Where we live the busing takes 40 min each way and the kids had no time to do sports or after school activity. They went to Catholic high school. Great experience.

Our youngest got Lyme in 8th grade and had to be home schooled. When she was well enough she took courses at community college as well as homeschooling. She started college at 18 with 53 college credits that transferred to PACE.

I agree that the $ should be directed by the parents to the school they think is best for their kids. Any other way is basically double taxation.

Don't force us students to risk it.

Oh shut UP!

You escaped; alive; from your mother's womb; so your risk of DEATH!!! from any thing else is REALLY slim for a few decades.

If 100% of you 'students' got covid; there'd be only 99.7% of you left to tell the tale!

Understandable -— but the “...part of the 50% Americans who can’t read at the 8th grade level..” is the direct failure of the public school system.

That cycle must be broken and the only way to do it - is to get those kids at jeopardy and find a “home school” with a competent family to help their kids catch up and not end up like the parents.

Which is the 2nd part to that... it’s going to take local people stepping up and helping local people — the US Dept of Education and the National Teacher Unions aren’t going to do it - nor can they... they had their change and that stat you gave proves it fails.

I would like to see block groups of home schoolers for parents that have to work outside the home - but drop their kids off with a family during those hrs just to get their work done and then hang around... mini-schools so to speak...

Some of my churches parents are doing this very thing, " I hear that you home school. Got room for one more?"
