Data isn't just being collected from your phone. It's being used to score you.

Operating in the shadows of the online marketplace, specialized tech companies you've likely never heard of are tapping vast troves of our personal data to generate secret "surveillance scores" - digital mug shots of millions of Americans - that supposedly predict our future behavior. The firms sell their scoring services to major businesses across the U.S. economy.

People with low scores can suffer harsh consequences. CoreLogic and TransUnion say that scores they peddle to landlords can predict whether a potential tenant will pay the rent on time, be able to "absorb rent increases," or break a lease. Large employers use HireVue, a firm that generates an "employability" score about candidates by analyzing "tens of thousands of factors," including a person's facial expressions and voice intonations. Other employers use Cornerstone's score, which considers where a job prospect lives and which web browser they use to judge how successful they will be at a job.

Come and get me.

————————————-

They don’t need you. They don’t want you. They want folks who can make a difference. They want folks whose views and opinions they can control in the job market, the open markets and the social media marketplace.

They want normal working Americans. They want our children.

They don’t want you.

They want to make sure that any wrong-thinking children or grandchildren of yours never are allowed to get a decent job, or have any position where they can influence others.

“This won’t last long, because it will be deemed racist. Already, Consumer Reports and other liberal organizations browbeat auto insurance companies into not charging higher rates in minority areas. Never mind the difference in risk, because any inequality is automatically racist.”

It will only be apply to white people.

“This is why any link we go to wants me to sign in to view it, I don’t.”

I’m amazed that people order stuff, do banking, etc., on their cell phones. I refuse to even get email on mine. And we don’t do any social media (except FR — is that social media?) at ALL.

We have one PC dedicated to financial things — paying bills and shopping — and don’t ever do emailing or net surfing on it. Supposedly hackers invade a system through email most of the time. We get on and get off ASAP. Another PC is for email and surfing.

I figure there’s a way they can burrow in some way, but we try hard to be careful.

We’re looking at Consumer Cellular old-timey flip phones.

I check credit scores and criminal background checks on perspective renters.

My wife does background checks and credit check for perspective new hires because she has class 1 drugs at her business.

You will see ads on tv tailored to you.
I guess I will see many ads for websites with loose women....

At Youtube you see on the right side suggested videos based on what you viewed before. I hate that as I want a variety.
I delete cookie files but they track you by your IP address, cell signal, tv channel you are tuned into etc.

The company I am at, the HR people look at social media for potential employees. I know the manager has looked at my internet use. He said I do not look at videos. I do not think they know what I am posting as no comment has been made.

My co-workers are always looking on their cellphones or work pc’s at either movies or video games.

I have a 3G flip phone. It’s kind of amazing that they’re shutting down the band within 2 years.

So we’re going to have forced data collection when people have no choice but to upgrade to 4G or 5G phones.

One of the online profile websites identifies me as a brother. I’m white.

Hey, maybe I can use it to my benefit.

Nope. You’ll fail the SJW idiocy test and then your being designated as a brother by the gizmo will simply get you re-tagged as an Uncle Tom, Oreo, White Supremacist in blackface and they’ll come at you extra special double dog dare hard because “race traitor”.

I do not think they know what I am posting as no comment has been made.

Make sure you are using https://freerepublic.com and not http://freerepublic.com. They both work, and both look the same except that HTTPS should have a little padlock in the URL box at the top of the browser and HTTP should say "not secure". With HTTP they can see what you post, and they also can see your password.

My wife’s cell is a typical grannie cell for emails and texting.

She never buys anything on it.

I may use my cell phone about once a day to text and never emailing nor ordering anything.

She has a smaller chromebook for her visits to our hmo and kindle unlimited. That advice came from our family wizard a sophomore engineering.

All of our banking, credit card ordering/paying is done via a Chromebook. We use passwords to get on it and for each site..

I have another chromebook for emails, FR and genealogy. Yesterday on that/this chromebook, I supposedly had an email order from Amazon on it from Maggie at Amazon on Yahoo. I was to call a so called security # to cancel the order. Of course they were looking for my credit card # to cancel the spoof.

It was a classic spoof. The real Amazon people are all over it.
