Chicago Tribune columnist, John Kass, who was a finalist for the 2008 Pulitzer Prize in Commentary, made a two-part horrible mistake thats already costing him. He spoke the truth about Liberal-run cities and pointed out that many of the prosecutors have run their election campaigns with the backing of George Soros.
He wrote an op-ed titled Something Grows in the Big Cities Run by Democrats: an Overwhelming Sense of Lawlessness, and the backlash began in earnest. The Progressive Liberals in typical fashion started howling for him to apologize. He starkly refused, opining that the cancel culture uses a left-handed broom and tactics aimed at fear-mongering and intimidation.

My response to the GeorgeSoros bs and cancelculture in newsrooms:
I will not apologize for writing the truth about Soros.
I will not bow to those whove wrongly defamed me.
Ever.
But I do thank readers and friends who stood by me.
Kass still has a job at the Tribune, at least for now, but the paper did announce they would be moving their lead columnist work away from the coveted page two spot so that readers would not confuse it with actual news. Over the last half-century or so, the Socialist/Communist Political Left has gained control of the educational system and the mainstream media including social media and are doing their level best to make sure that only views that align with their Agenda are heard.
We try to win an election, while The Left is at war with us. Eventually, The Left will leave us no choice other than surrender and war.
Always wished he'd publish a collection of his favorite columns. But I guess he doesn't "own" the rights to them (i.e. Chicago Tribune property?), so he can't do that.
A pity. I still remember one column from the 90's he wrote about going hunting with his brother when they were teens. Wish I could find it again.
The Revolution will eat its own.
“The Left will leave us no choice other than surrender and war.”
...OR war!
And many of the rest of us as well. It's time to fight or die.
Then they should move everything in their paper away from page 2 so it's not confused with actual news.
The only answer is for mobs to burn down the Chicago Tribune building.
So, when will the rioters and the looters and the anarchists, and the far-left (aka: socialists/liberals/progressives/communists: aka: democrats) get their backlash or the strong response from those who actually love this country and its constitution and all it stands for?
The squeaky wheel gets the oil, and the radical left is getting the oil. It’s time WE took that oil from them and let them squeak themselves to death.
It’s time WE started shouting “We’re mad as hell and we ain’t gonna take it anymore!!!”. Every action from the left needs a stronger response from the opposite side. If we don’t act soon, the squeaky wheel syndrome will spread throughout the land.
Kass is a conservative.
Somebody tell him to hire Lin Wood.
He also did graat stuff about the Daley administration but the Trib has changed when McCormack left the scene. Remembering when I tried to get it ro run an expose about thefts on the CTA during the John L Waner for mayor campaign only to have them run it the day after the election.
In the end even Lord Cromwell had his head chopped off.
Its the nature of these sorts of things.
We need more people who will stand up to them. So far, it’s Kass and Trader Joe’s.
just war
Red Bull too.
