Back in the early 70s my Mom taught Jr Hi reading classes in a very bad 'hood in inner city Denver. The mother of one of her students (his nickname was "Buttsy") walked in on either her hubby or her BF in bed with another woman, and she shot him, deliberately aiming the gun right at his private parts. As I recall, she got off with basically a slap on the wrist. Back in that era, society and our justice system viewed Crimes of Passion versus Adultery much differently than today.
I did meet Buttsy once, and I always hoped to meet "Mrs. Aragon" but never did. A shame.
He got off easy.
