The first fights Bocelli had were at home, he said, when he began to express certain doubts about the severity of this so-called pandemic.
The first to attack me were my children who said to me, Dad, stick to Tosca and Madame Butterfly and leave aside viruses that you know nothing about, Bocelli recalled.
But as time went by, I realized that I know a ton of people, but thank God I didnt know a single person who had even wound up in intensive care, and I wondered about our drastic response, he said.
Distancing myself from any political party, I want to say that there came a time when I felt humiliated and offended by being deprived of the freedom to leave my house, despite having committed no crime, he said. And I must confess publicly, and I do so here, that in certain cases I voluntarily disobeyed this prohibition because it seemed neither just nor healthy to stay at home.
I think it is important to underscore the matter of our schools and our children, he said. I have an 8-year-old daughter and I cant imagine these kids meeting at school separated by plexiglass barriers and hiding behind face masks.
I cannot understand how with such incredible speed we decided to shut down our schools and with the same speed we reopened discotheques, where kids go not to form their brains but to waste them, he added.
The famous tenor concluded by issuing a heartfelt appeal to refuse to follow this rule, while calling for a broad debate in society as well as the formation of a unified front because this battle can only be won by forming a united front of people with common sense who know how to look beyond their personal interests.

That’s harsh. LOL
Once these issues become generally accepted by society and certain behaviors become the norm, any rational discussion becomes irrelevant. That is where we are at now. If you disagree you’re stupid, and if you don’t follow the rules, you’re reckless/irresponsible, unprofessional, or even unpatriotic. Fill in the blank with Global Warming, recycling paper, glass, plastic (all nonsense), the polar bear, spotted owl, baby seals, acid rain, lack of potable water, ozone hole, or a plethora of other issues. Today/now, even a frigging virus has become politicized and become part of these social movements.
All that matters now is that you do what the person next to you does. “Group conformity.”
If you don’t, you’re a heretic. In fact, like the mask, or with global warming in the past, they inculcate their philosophy and feelings into the law and if you do not do as told you will be punished.
Many years ago we use to burn people at the stake if they didn’t play along with the social games. We’ve become a little better-
Well, one of the problems is the state is making companies conform under certain penalties which imperil their businesses and livelyhoods.
So, just to shop, where it is not prohibited, the retailers are forced to demand “No Shirts, No Shoes, No Mask, No Service” but, do bring your dog or even dogs....
Masks that don’t really work.
Gloves that don’t really work.
But the drinking fountain where you can share in other peoples slobber does.
There are a lot of things going on here socially, politically, economically, even psychologically, but we have accomplished virtually nothing regards containing this virus.
I have considered creating an “assmask.” The CDC stated that the virus is found in feces and that would also include flatulence. Take some adult diapers, rebrand them, and sell them for 10 times as much on Amazon. Of course this would be tongue in cheek but one has to wonder how many people would actually go for it. You know, to be responsible, patriotic, and professional...
