Tim Murtaugh: National Polls Actively Trying to Suppress Trump Voter Enthusiasm
Breitbart ^ | 26 Jul 2020 | Kristina Wong

Posted on 07/26/2020 5:36:17 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

National polls on the 2020 presidential race are meant to “suppress the enthusiasm” of President Trump’s voters, Tim Murtaugh, director of communications for the Trump reelection campaign, said Saturday in an interview a hundred days from Election Day.

“They are trying to create a narrative, and these polls are designed — this is why they are released and published — they’re designed to create headlines, and they are actively trying to suppress the enthusiasm of President Trump’s voters,” Murtaugh told Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Saturday with host Breitbart News Political Editor Matthew Boyle.

“It’s evident that these polls are only designed to do that one thing that they’re aiming for,” he said.

Murtaugh pointed to two recent CNN and Quinnipiac polls, which had a sample of only 24 percent who identified as Republicans. “Twenty-four percent — less than a quarter of the country. That compares to Republican turnout according to exit polls in both 2016 and 2018 of 33 percent, so they’re undersampling Republicans by 9 points in that poll,” he said.

“They just no longer exist? They just wiped out more than a quarter of Republicans and said, ‘OK, here’s the poll.’ Well of course it shows that Joe Biden is ahead. But we know that there is enormous enthusiasm on the president’s side,” he added.

We’ve known before 2016 that almost all polls are propaganda and the rest are rough guesses. Ignore or laugh at all of them.

I think Biden has a slight lead. However, if the economy starts heading down again, it will be a larger Biden lead by November. If it’s looking a lot better, Trump should win.

I think Biden has a slight lead.

What is the basis for that belief?

Polls are BS. Don’t read them. Most importantly, don’t be persuaded by them. That is their purpose.

No, the polls are not meant to “suppress voter enthusiasm”. They are intended to justify the massive vote fraud the Democrats are planning for this November.

With me it’s no longer enthusiasm, per se. I was enthused in 2016 and following. But now after 4 years of attrosities against Trump by the the beastly left; I’m DETERMINED. I’ll vote for Trump, come hell or high water! Nothing they do or say will deter me.

You're starting to see the more reputable ones tighten up right about now - like Rasmussen etc.

Fox, CNN and the others will continue to toss their creds into the incinerator.

I was about to ask the same question until I saw your post. Let’s see if you get a cogent answer or, any answer at all.
Posts like that are usually simply the blatherings of pessimists.

I think you’re wrong. A friend’s NextDoor site, in a liberal area, until recently had been the usual liberal dominated BS, recycling, BLM, masks, Trumps sucks, blah, blah, blah. The liberals were their overbearing obnoxious selves. On the 4th of July a business stuck little plastic flags in lawns all over the neighborhoods.
Some obnoxious millennial was whining about it being offensive, the business shouldn’t have done that, OMG and plastic flags. She got push back. Just get rid of it if you hate it that much. Get over it. After that, more people started speaking up and disagreeing with the protests, the city councils programs and other liberal issues. Over the last week, the NextDoor site became more polite and back to can anybody make a recommendation. And this is an area where the only local election is the primary. And that’s between a liberal and aa more liberal candidate.

I think Republican support across all races will increase. Not just the silent voters, but the no longer willing to be silenced people will make an appearance at the polls.

We can this to mean that in the real polls conducted by the Trump campaign, Trump is up by 8 to 10 points.

Here are a few things on why we should discount polls but not discount Biden's threat:

-most polls are drawn from about 1,000 people and are hardly representative of who will vote across a state with millions of registered voters.

-the avg Trump supporter is suspicious of any unknown caller (e.g. Is it a doxxing Antifa dweeb?) asking "who ya gonna vote for?" And their hangup means an undersampling of Trump support, especially if your avg woke Dem is all about telling strangers about their worldview.

-This little thing called the Electoral College means national polls are as helpful as is counting up the total number of goals scored by a team in the Stanley Cup finals to see who will win the series

All that said, election results are a function of turnout and geography. Sure, in PA Trump will win the Red areas. But Philadelphia and her woke hyped up citizenry will turn out in droves (and maybe multiple times...).

It is not enough to simply hope the polls are BS and Trump folks will come out of the woodwork. The Dems are using these riots, erm, Biden Rallies to whip up loser enthusiasm. If we simply think this is a cakewalk, we are screwed.

When you compare Hillary vs Biden

Hillary was a much better candidate that did have its own momentum over the Breaking of the Glass Ceiling and all that. But on the flip side her negative baggage was quite large.

Biden has even more baggage than Hillary. While Hillary might have an impressive body count. Joe has decades of Gaffes. Everything from fondling kids and sniffing hair, to saying some very racist things in Congress that is part of the record.

In 2016 the media discounted Trump and assumed that their support for Hillary would cause her to have a easy victory. 2020 the media & Democrats are pulling out all of the stops. With silly polls that are designed to influence. To non stop negative news articles trying to blame Covid-19 and the race riots on Trump.

So far they have been unsuccessful. And I think they know it. That is why they are flailing around more & more.
