In a powerful statement Pastor John MacArthur of Grace To You put the State of California on notice: Christians will not bow to oppression.
MacArthur argued for sphere sovereignty. He said that God ordained various types of authority like the family, the church and the state. Each is granted unique power from God and should defend its sphere of interest from intrusion by the others.
This is very good. It recognizes government has limited authority. This is critical in time like this where the very future of limited government is at stake. MacArthur’s statement will fuel a renewed Christian interest in defending both church and individual rights from government intrusion.
MacArthur does another important service by asserting our rights preceded the creation of the state. Thus, rights are not granted by the State or the Constitution. Thus, our rights are not resting on the good will of the state or even our Constitution, but rather God and God’s created order.
I have a few minor quibbles with MacArthur on political theology—but that is for another time. Now we must stand shoulder-to-shoulder with MacArthur, the elders and the people of Grace Community Church.

If I was near that church, I’d attend services there.
Here is a case where the federal government could get involved and force the state to stand down.
A first amendment issue.
As long as the pastor practices health guidelines such as keeping distances and..yes face masks-although IMO they dont work, he must be allowed to carry on. They could hold several services to make up for those attending people.
Moreover, the state of CA is violating the equal protection issue by not enforcing its law to include ALL organizations and gatherings. What is good for one, is good for all.
I read the letter/article MacArthur wrote as to what and why he was doing. In it, he quoted Yeshua and what He said would happen to those who followed Him.
Since Newsom is governed by Satan, I am not surprised.
It’s gonna get interesting.....and what a thing for G-d to take a an active role in this. Even though I know G-d’s entire being is about love, what I mean is to see people be struck blind that try to cut the power...or even to see people drop dead. Look at the Scriptures...it HAS happened to those who try to cross the Almighty.

Their website. He’s been pastor for 50 years. Huge campus (it’s on their website) and I think their weekly attendance is near 10,000. They also have a University and Seminary as part of the ministry.
I’m aways surprised how many people that I might hear or listen to on youtube started out in that church.
I just listened to a podcast by Joni Earickson Tada and heard her mention she had met her husband at Grace Community all those years ago.
On doctrine some people take issue with some of his teachings, but go to the site and read their statement of faith if you wonder what they believe. It’s pretty laid out in the letter to the Governor their position on the church and
the government.
Endless appeals and nothing gets done. 1 judge rules against the governor; and appealate Obama-judge overturns. If it’s red-balled to the USSC, then you have to worry about 4 libs + John Roberts.
Cutting electrical power?
That’s what backup standby power units are for, and they almost certainly were required to include one in their building plans.

Churches are shut down. Business are closed, and some attacked. Scientific research papers going against government rules are being retracted. Free speech is being ‘cancelled’. Quarantines are being required for many travelers. If travel restrictions evolve, then we become no different from Soviet Russia.

Technically the pastor just provides the time and place. It's really up to the attendees how far they want to follow silly guidelines.

Just a warning to others: If you don’t obey completely and without question the daily commands of Governor Nancy Pelosi’s Nephew the state will crush you. The Constitution has been invalidated (by the USSC no less) in states where the governor is the supreme power.
Are there lawyers who can being lawsuit proceedings on Newsome and California?
Are mosques under the same orders?
Bars?
Restuarants?
People need to form a line around the Church and make these cops (who allow ANTIFA/BLM to riot, but strangely will enforce this upon a Church) get violent.
