The Sinclair Broadcast Group said it will postpone and rework a segment it planned to air this weekend suggesting Dr. Anthony Fauci was responsible for the creation of the coronavirus.
The baseless conspiracy theory was set to air during the program "America This Week" hosted by Eric Bolling.
A memo sent to its local television stations instructed news directors to avoid airing the most recent episode of Bolling's show, which was supposed to include the conspiracy theory.
"After further review of this week's originally planned episode, it's clear we need to provide additional context to the highly controversial segment regarding the COVID pandemic and Dr. Fauci," Scott Livingston, Sinclair's senior vice president of news, wrote.
"In order to meet our standard of providing an open and honest marketplace of ideas and viewpoints, even if incredibly controversial, we will need to rework the segment to ensure viewers get the best information available."
The episode of Bolling's show that featured the conspiracy theory was also pulled from local Sinclair websites, where it is often posted before airing. People now trying to access the videos are met with an error page.
In the episode of the show that was set to air, Bolling spoke with Judy Mikovits, the medical researcher featured in the discredited "Plandemic" video that went viral earlier this year and which was banned from platforms such as Facebook and YouTube. Throughout the segment, the on-screen graphic read, "DID DR. FAUCI CREATE COVID-19?"
Mikovits told Bolling that Fauci had over the past decade "manufactured" and shipped coronaviruses to Wuhan, China, which became the original epicenter of the current outbreak.
The segment ignited controversy after CNN Business reported on it. Local stations across the country started receiving complaints, people who work at Sinclair told CNN, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

"DID DR. FAUCI CREATE COVID-19?"
On Saturday morning, the company had defended airing the segment in a series of tweets, saying it did not endorse the conspiracy theory but was committed to providing its audience diverse viewpoints.
The MSM axes whatever doesn’t fit their “narrative”. Why do you think they call it “programming”?
On balance, the pre-pandemic research connection which Fauci did have with the Chinese and the Wuhan facility, has not been explained to any satisfactory degree.
This was a good move. It is unwise to ascribe politacal motivation to the origin. Better reserved for the response, which is exemplified and encouraged by/toward collectivism.
This is not a new war, or battle. Me vs. The World is an ongoing war, and only Christ Jesus has won it.
Call it by its real name - Fauci virus.
” baseless conspiracy theory “
What a media.;..
regardless
it is known that fauci knew back in 2005 hcq was effective against coronaviruses
and when this rolled around now he downplayed it and said not to use it
he’s responsible for withholding info that showed this was effective and for all the deaths that came from docs being denied using it, or believing him and deciding not to use it
“Regardless” of what? Specifically?
Precisely!
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the U.S. governments top infectious disease specialist, warned in early 2017 that a surprise outbreak would occur during the Trump administration, and he said that more needed to be done to prepare for a pandemic
Dr Fauci said in early 2018 that their would be a PANDEMIC originating in China in 2020. He had been at the Wuhan Virology Lab on many occasions. Explain that CDC.
It looks like enough to call for an investigation. I have also seen stuff on youtube that looks legit about Fauci abusing his power and some very underhanded stuff. Heck, he just looks like a weasel.
MSM couldn't even bother watching the video before they "debunked it"
45 years this asshole has been sucking on Americas teats while working with China to develop this toy of his.
PDJT is going to regret the days he called this pos friend and very nice.
Oh wait, he said the same about Hillary.
This is not a defense of Fauci. If people want to attack him, go ahead. Using someone like Mikovits who has no credibility among her peers is not going to work.
Also he is a friend of Hillary, gates and soros, so this along with him funding the wuhan facility with our tax dollars leads to a conspiracy theory, eh?
Wouldn’t it be great if we were allowed to see what we want and make our own decisions about whether it should be discredited?
