I bet if Alien fleet appeared in the sky tomorrow and declared "We claim this world for the KlaK-Zarg Empire, we are now your rulers!", the vast majority of people would shrug and say, "Hell couldn't be worse than our own government, they seem to have their act together and have mastered interstellar travel. All Hail our new rulers from the Klak-Zarg Empire!"

Careful with that. A few months ago I read an article -- or maybe it was just a post -- to the effect that in order to keep "the fear" from subsiding before the Presidential election, the official "We Are Not Alone" statement, accompanied by persuasive videos, would be issued, paving the way for the iron fist of a "world government" to deal with the "threat" and "bring us all together."

A "world government" governed by the usual suspects, of course.

There are flying devices that take off and land like a plane, or are launched from a plane, but do not need propulsion from a propeller or jet to stay aloft. I don’t know what speed they can achieve or what weight of vehicle can do this. People I trust who know, have said as much to me personally.
