A group of about 150 rioters in Seattle gathered late July 22 to cause significant damage in the former so-called autonomous zone, setting fires, breaking into businesses, and looting, police said.

Yes, that seems to be the flip-side of all of this. Police will be monitors with violent thugs and terrorists because they might get hurt but will arrest lawful citizens defending themselves because we are compliant and peaceful.
Maybe the police should be defunded and disbanded.
And people demand we support the police?
Police as with the military should always follow rule #1: Never follow an illegal order.

I’ll describe to you what eventually will happen. Reference the KKK shooting in Greensboro in 1979.
The police will pull back. Way back. Rioters will start nonsense and suddenly people in masks dressed in black will open fire on them. By the time the police are allowed to come in, the masked shooters are gone or have faded into the background. Scores of looters will be dead and people will lose interest in looting and rioting.
Why should police do anything? All they should do is to "contain" the violence so it doesn't get into suburbs.

Under orders to do nothing and threatened with termination if they criticize their mayors.
Police chiefs are political animals/victims.
