CBS News decided to test the system upon which the government will entrust the sanctity of the ballot this November. And the U.S. Postal Service flubbed it.
This is not about gaming the system, or voter fraud, or stuffing the mail with fake ballots from illegal aliens. This is about the competency of the USPS to deliver official ballots sent through the mail on time, and to the right people. They proved that the 100 million or more Americans who plan to mail in their ballots should not expect their vote to be counted unless they mail it weeks prior to the election deadlines in each state.

Don’t let presidential elections “go postal.” !!!
Its simple, if the rats get mail voting in enough states to reach 270 EC votes Trump loses. For instance 2-3% of votes sent from certain zip codes not being counted would be enough to tip any state that is close. There are several other ways to cheat with mail voting. Pa is already lost because the idiots in the Pa GOP is backing mail voting.
"The results should frighten Democrats who claim they are all about every vote being counted."The government wants to disarm us after 244 yrs 'cuz they plan to do things we would shoot them for! That's a misquote.
Democrats are all about every vote being counted for a democrat.
At no point in history has any government ever wanted its people to be defenseless for any good reason ~ nully's son
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
They had them somewhere else, the postal worker said.
I'd say that's beyond incompetence. More like systemic censoring.
And I'm sure CBS will showcase this test in their evening news programs. NOT!
I knew a guy in Vegas once who worked for the bus system when it first started up, and he decided the pay wasn’t all that great and that he wanted to work for the USPS. So he quit.
I saw him a few months later and he was unemployed, but decided to work for the recently begun paratransit system. Less pay than the fixed route buses, but they wouldn’t take him back so he had to do paratransit or file for unemployment.
About six months later, I was talking to the mailman whose route my apartment complex was on, and he was telling me some horror stories about wannabe postal carriers. And he mentioned one who used to work for the bus system. Come to find out, this guy was tossing ads in the trash because he didn’t want to deliver them. He didn’t realize that for a while, there were spot checks on his entire route from the time he left the post office to the time he got back.
When it comes to horror stories about mail carriers, I’m inclined to believe them!
As to USPS

Philadelphia? It’s hard to believe this experiment wasn’t designed for the express purpose of lulling conservatives into a false belief that “missing” mail will affect leftists cities the most.
The United States Postal Service is not a reliable part of any chain of custody for a cast ballot, and certainly not for mail-in ballots just scattergunned out onto the known members of voting rolls in ANY jurisdiction.
For a REQUESTED absentee ballot, there is an origination point, the county or city clerk’s office, a record that the ballot was requested, and a deadline for the returning of the completed ballot, otherwise it is not valid for tallying purposes. Ballots not returned by the deadline are considered a non-vote.
We have recently been forced to use the US Mail while handling the estate of a sibling.
We found the USPS to be largely unreliable. Almost 25% of the items mailed to us or mailed out have been “lost.”
I will never again use the USPS for anything important. It’s pathetic.
no ballot request forms should be sent out of the respective district. When they ask for a ballot they should actually be living in the district at the time of request.
Otherwise, every tom dick and harry can ask for a ballot from anywhere TO anywhere. Theoretically you could vote in every single state and just use a homeless shelter as you “address” for residence and a different mailing address for the ballot.
One of the biggest a-holes I’ve known was an alcoholic postal employee who went around bragging that he couldn’t be fired b/c of the union.
The DOJ uses fedex I believe. Not even the feds trust the mail.
Ric Moran is famous for using other sources as part of his articles. Less work for him, just cut and paste. And, to his credit, he gives proper attribution to the source.
But not this time. Wonder why not?
PDJT needs to do a news conference on this...blow it up bigly.
PROBLEMS:
1. The chain of custody is a joke, nobody knows who handled your ballot.
2. But the handlers know you Way better than you know them. If youre registered by party, postal workers easily can tell by WHO mails you stuff.... and then ooops, some disappear, hey, were not perfect, stuff happens.
3. Republican PO worker in a Democrat District, or vice Versa: hey, 80% of these ballots are going to Voters from the BAD Partys houses! Ooops, some of them just somehow got lost!
4. My daughter moved out of state, or my wife: Oh look, I have her signature on other documents, I can copy that!
5.Oh sure, I can volunteer at the nursing home for Alzheimers patients! ......Yes Walter, you sign here and Ill take care of the box-checking, and then Ill get you a Nice glass of water for your Prevagen, and then Ill help the other wonderful residents!
6. Okay, students, glad to see you could make it to the kegger! Remember, the students that vote together boat together! So take out your ballots while the band plays Dump that Trump and well all do this in solidarity! And then well all go water skiing.
........and that is only HALF the reasons why mail-in is bad!
Stop the madness
About 10 years ago while I was renting a house (in California) I received an absentee ballot for a person who did not live there. I personally drove the ballot to the county Board of Electors office, telling them they needed to correct this.
The next election I received another ballot for the same person, and once again took it to the Board of Electors.
I moved a short time later. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if that same ballot is still being mailed to that address.
Think of how many times the above scenario must happen, but the ballots are received by unethical parties.
(I realize this was not the USPS’ failure, but wanted to mention yet another angle.)
Here’s an idea. Every voter has a social security number and a date of birth, right? So compute HMAC(SSN|DOB|Secret1)=QR using a one-way Hash-based Message Authentication Code [HMAC]. Secret1 is a long number randomly generated by the election bureau for each ballot. Print the HMAC as a scannable QR code on the ballot (think TicketMaster).
This gives each ballot a unique QR symbol such that no two ballots are the same, preventing duplication. The voter can later confirm that his/her ballet was indeed counted by entering in their SSN and DOB at the election bureau’s website to check.
When the ballot is received, the voting bureau scans the QR and computes HMAC(QR|MyVote|Secret2), where Secret2 is known only to the election bureau. Do this for each political office on the ballot. The voter can then go to the website and enter their personal info to confirm that the vote was received, and it also confirms who you voted for.
You can strengthen the privacy of the system by using something like two-factor authentication where a second entity like VeriSign counter-signs each ballot with Secret3 if you don’t trust the election bureau.
This system guarantees privacy, prevents ballot duplication, and detects vote tampering.
Nothing is foolproof, but these methods are damn sight better than the system the Democrats want to use.
This is part of the beauty of the whole scheme.
If Biden is ahead on election night, election over.
If Biden is behind, then we can have months of picking and choosing which stray ballots to apply for a Biden win.
