Ratings for A&E Network have plummeted since it canceled the hit police reality show “Live PD” on June 10, a sign of how much the network relies on law-enforcement programming.
Average prime-time viewership for A&E between June 11 and July 19 was 498,000 people, down 49% from the same period last year, according to data from Nielsen. In the key demographics of adults 18-49 and 25-54, the declines are 55% and 53%, respectively.

There needs to be an Americana channel for streaming. A channel focused on the true American experience and history. Could do miniseries about great Americans like Booker T. Washington, Annie Oakley, etc.
That show was addicting. It’s not my usual fare, but for some reason I couldn’t stop watching.
That is, until they cancelled it. Oh well.
I used to like A&E when it had Columbo, Ellery Queen, City of Angels, Delvecchio, Lou Grant, Police Story, O’Hara, U.S. Treasury, McCloud, and The Fugitive.
Their last real offering was Nero Wolfe.
Great idea but I doubt OAN has the money to buy the rights and the seed money money it would take to bring it back. All the on air people are under A&E contract that is a problem too. If OAN could do it they would get huge ratings l have no doubt.
Definitely some of the channel’s best years.
Watched most of those and have a lot on DVD.
Ellery Queen is a big favorite with me and my wife.
I loved seeing the bad guys getting their face shoved into the ground on Live PD....and I'm ticked that it's been yanked by the its management's kneelers.

Using the old adage, “follow the money”, it wouldn’t surprise me if the network figured out a way to bring it back. Perhaps with “enlightened” commentary.
They can console themselves by thinking about all the people who are so extremely impressed by their little virtue-signaling gesture.
A number which is probably somewhere around zero, at least if you count people who don't inhabit their executive suite.
Which 99% of their viewers will just fast-forward past.

I would have liked to have seen other titles from that era like Switch, Cannon, Kojak, The Streets of San Francisco, Barnaby Jones, and Harry O. And even throw in Vega$.
I've never watched it because I only watch sci fi stuff and reruns of the 2016 late-election-night TV shows featuring the joy & happiness on MSM after the results were in...
