This is the kind of populism that got him booed at the GOP primary debates in 2015 and 2016.

Isn’t this the kind of populism that made NR run that “Against Trump” issue?

Another reason for the insane to hate President Trump and for the sane Americans to vote for him.

Thank you Mr. President”

“But, but, but what about capitalism and free enterprise?” said nobody except some Chamber of Commerce lobbyists (and the GOP politicians they own).

So the federal government can tell private companies to sell goods at the price the government dictates.

I am sure there is a word for that.

My dad paid a fortune for diabetic test strips and insulin. Thankful others will get a discount.

When it’s the federal government paying for the purchases, yes.

Let me guess, you supported Cruz in the primaries. Or Scott Walker. And you happily voted for Bush in 2004, McCain in 2008 and Romney in 2012, because they’re great on “capitalism”

He is telling suppliers we are only going to pay X for your product. If you don’t like it, fine. Go and try to find somebody else who can buy in our volume.

This is Standard Operating Procedure for the buyers at Walmart.

Love it. The companies will have to raise the rates of other countries to off-set their losses. Leveling the playing field. Americans no longer paying the higher prices so other countries can get it cheaper. Now we will all pay the same amount regardless of what country you are a citizen of.

Yeah. Good Business.

They don’t want to sell at that price, don’t gotta sell it.

No, it is telling drug companies you can’t sell drug X for $50.00 in Hong Kong and $500.00 in the US. This actually happens all the time. I have a prescription that was under $50 US dollars in HK. The same exact drug by the same manufacturer is $583.00 in Houston. There is no free market involved. If you need a drug it is often paying for it or die.

To be fair, PDJT should do an EO that limits the ability of ambulance-chasing lawyers to sue over the side effects of drugs. I think a huge part of this problem Dewey, Cheetham & Howe having their fat fingers in the pie.

The word is called bypassing the middleman. They are going to buy the same drugs from a different distributor.

That’s not what Trump is saying.

Trump is telling Big Pharma that American taxpayers won’t make up the difference for losses incurred through foreign price controls.
