We never should have allowed a city to declare itself “sanctuary” and refuse to obey federal law and defy federal authorities. Just should have ended that. Eisenhower sent troops when southern areas used massive resistance and defiance of integration laws passed. He wasn’t called a kidnapper or a criminal. Eisenhower didn’t let it go by.
