North Chicago, IL – Three former North Chicago police officers who retired on disability after being injured in the line of duty will possibly have their pensions revoked for failing to comply with the city’s order to return to work for the department’s 911 center.
North Chicago city leaders invoked a rarely-used state law to order a total of nine retired, disabled officers back to work in May of 2019, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Use of the law is so infrequent, it is unclear whether it has ever been utilized in the past.

And still the gutless, fat-belly Chicago cops won’t arrest Mayor Groot for inciting riots. They don’t care about the pensions of their union brother retired cops. They only care about their own pensions that Groot might cancel at anytime.
Even Chicago gangs are more organized than the every-man-for-himself Chicago police department.
If the cops were teachers, most here wouldn’t be on their side.
Same gold plated pensions, similar short years put in before retirement.
They would have training.
The terms of their pensions cover this.
Why is this a problem. They agreed to the terms so if they are capable of performing the work they should comply with the order.
If you have ever worked in a private sector job especially manufacturing and construction you will know this as a form of “light duty”. If you get hurt your employer can ask you to report to work and stuff envelopes
It’s amazing how many months of worker’s compensation is saved by this.
Not saying this is the same but they are on disability retirement. If there is something they can do they should go back to work.
Anyone who still thinks the Democrats are the friends of the ‘working man’ needs to pay more attention.
