Lessons From 1976 Swine Flu: ‘Scores’ Dead After 46 Million Vaccinated Unnecessarily
National File ^ | July 22 | Tom Pappert

In 1976, the Center for Disease Control made the unprecedented decision to vaccinate the United States against swine flu, fearing that it would become a pandemic in the country that would rival the Spanish Flu of 1918-1919. Later, it was established that the mass vaccination attempt was largely unnecessary, and may have proved fatal for some of the 46 million Americans who received it in the massive effort.

After Americans began dying from swine flu in the mid 1970s, then-CDC director Dr. David Sencer made the unprecedented decision to vaccinate millions Americans against the illness in a massive campaign that some say left 25 dead and “scores” more dead after being temporarily paralyzed.

After announcing his mass vaccination campaign, Sencer ordered 200 million doses of the vaccine manufactured, and President Gerald Ford promoted the vaccine by being photographed receiving it at the White House.

Less than two weeks after the program began, however, 25 Americans died after receiving the vaccine.

“Scores of others were affected by a mysterious form of progressive paralysis called Guillain-Barre syndrome,” the Washington Post noted. “Many became temporarily paralyzed, and several died.”

Sencer vehemently denied that those deaths were related to his vaccine, though contemporary experts warned that the swine flu vaccine had not been properly tested and could not be assumed safe.

Ultimately, the swine flu vaccination program began on October 1, 1976, and was suspended in December of the same year.

GATES: You know, if we have, you know, one in 10,000 side effects, that’s, you know, way more— 700,000—you know, people who will suffer from that. So really understanding the safety at gigantic scale across all age ranges—you know, pregnant, male, female, undernourished, existing comorbidities—it’s very, very hard. And that actual decision of, “OK, let’s go and give this vaccine to the entire world,” ah, governments will have to be involved because there will be some risk and indemnification needed before that can be decided on.

You are right that as a percentage that is pretty good.

However that is 25 more then the swine flu killed.

There is a reason why we do not vaccinate everybody for every disease on earth. The chance of the vaccine killing you is greater then the chance that you will ever encounter the virus.

I remember being vaccinated. Was on active duty and had no choice in the matter.

Raises a question. How many public school teachers have missed a paycheck, the last few months?

Most teachers have a thinned out salary so as to get paid over the summer, instead of just the nine or ten months they actually work. I can't say for every district, but the ones in the DFW area have been paying full-time teachers and salaried staff, many of whom had to still work (such as school nurses having to go in every time someone had to go to the school, to supervise that all the teachers and people were actually using hand sanitiser. Dumb). Hourly staff such as office assistants, janitorial/maintenance services, have been only getting paid for when they're needed to come in, which is severely reduced hours. Of course, they're usually used to not working over summer as is, so only maybe two months of reduced hours. Substitute teachers have been getting almost nothing. I think a story back in March/April said LA Schools were paying their subs a little bit, but that's the only one I've heard of for subs.

Bill Gates was on Anderson cooper (cnn) - they were cheerleading for vaccines, and joking about how anyone that didn’t fully trust either of them was a conspiracy theorist.

Cooper (Vanderbilt) never asked about the tens of thousands of girls in Africa that Gates sterilized under the guise of a vaccine.

It was very telling - pure propaganda and knowing deceit.
