46 million vaccinated and 25 died.
Vaguely. I remember the name; I was only 14 at the time.
And I remember jokes about the name of it.
How many paralyzed and got compensation?
I had the Swine Flu in 1976. It wasn’t as bad as the Hong Kong Flu in 1968 but it wasn’t pleasant, either. The democrats tried to blame everything on Ford back then. He was in a similar position as Trump today. Nothing he did was the “Right Thing.”
Yeah, a contributing factor as to why they aren’t sticking me with any vaccine any time soon.
Worth remembering.
More left paralyzed, and some of them died. Is that really worth it?
Yes sir. A timely article I thought.
I remember this vividly. It’s a key reason why my tagline is what it is.
We had a neighbor who got vaccinated, developed Guillain-Barre Syndrome and was disabled for the rest of his life.
Meanwhile the epidemic never came.
The government is never anywhere near as wise or as smart or as steeped in competence as they’re telling you they are.
How were you treated?
I REMEMBER THIS TOO!
It was huge at the time. All kinds of people ended up dying anyway.
I got a flu shot around 12 years ago and around a week later i started feeling tingling in one of my legs then soon after shaking.
Then the other leg started up....
I really started to think that i had gotten Parkinsons Disease.
Then i started to wonder about the coincidence of that flu shot...
Anyways it has mellowed out for the most part since but not completely.
Needless to say that was the LAST flu shot that i will ever get.
I did a little research on the web and found many flu shot victims shaking uncontrollably and can barley walk.
I guess i lucked out with that.
yea i’m not too keen on getting any more vaccines...especially one rushed out for a money grab..
Whatever! There are vasts amounts of money to be made off of COVID19.
Got that one. Some of us called it the Gerald Ford shot as he publicized his on TV. I was military. Got sick from the vaccine, but not enough to bother with sick call. A little rum and honey and lemon helped it go away overnight or so.
Anyone old enough to remember this? Way before my time...
*********
You, remember it quite well (Im 75). I was living in Lubbock, Tx at the time. Vaccinations were given in the city convention center. So, went there and got my shot. Felt a little rough for a day or two but that was about it.
Some of us ignored the vax mandate until maybe a bit more results came in.
Some of us.
And then we didn’t worry about it, because we didn’t get it anyway. If you stay out of the way, it works out.
Beat getting Guillan-Barre Syndrome.
Looney article .
the article, at least what I saw doesn’t really tell you the extent of the complications.
I thought also the Guillian Barre was also associated with the use of aspirin in the presence of the virus.
I don’t think I’m going to take the vaccine when it becomes available, in the first wave.
