THE REAL NUMBER OF coronavirus cases is much higher than the recorded infections, according to a new study from the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control.
The research, published Tuesday in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine, looked at antibodies in blood samples taken from 10 geographic regions. Researchers found a range from six to 24 times the number of documented cases, but most sites likely have 10 times more infections than reported, according to the study.
"The findings may reflect the number of persons who had mild or no illness or who did not seek medical care or undergo testing but who still may have contributed to ongoing virus transmission in the population," the study said.
Further data was published Tuesday on CDC's website, reflecting that New York City was the area with the highest percentage of the population with antibodies as of early May at roughly 23%.
Officials in the U.S. report more than 3.85 million cases of the virus, according to Johns Hopkins University. Even if the real number is ten times that, it still is not near what is needed for herd immunity, which would need to see 60-70% of the population infected.
The study echoes comments from CDC Director Robert Redfield last month, when he estimated that the country actually had more than 20 million infections at the time.
"A significant majority of the American public – probably greater than 90% of the American public ... remains susceptible," Redfield said in June.
It is also unclear what level of protection antibodies give people and how long that protection could last.

Everyday I read how both deaths and infections are vastly overstated, and then I read this from the CDC. Then I read how Taiwan, with 21M people, has 7 deaths and Japan with 124M people has less than 1000 deaths. Same for Singapore, all who are using this treatment:

I've known of a few elderly people from our church who have tested positive. Which is still keeping our paranoid Elders from opening for actual in person services. But not a single person who's had to be treated much less hospitalized. Individual experience means little, but when nearly everyone isn't seeing what's supposedly happening?
I am pretty sure that tens of millions have been exposed, especially considering the airborne contagion of the flu and the common cold. Not to mention the delay in masking and places like California continuing to have a rise in positives more than a month after strict mask rules,

That is only after you factor in (out?) the 120 million Americans that Sleepy Joe claimed had already died of CCP-Coronavirus.
That’s a lot considering some testing sites are reporting 100% of those tested, we could end up with more people testing positive in the US than are in the US.

I’m not convinced we need 60% of all Americans (200M+) Infected to achieve herd immunity. It seems to me we need to hit this number in urban areas, some lower percentage in suburbs and then lower still in rural areas given there are structural differences in spread due to transmission rates.
Maybe the real number is something closer to 100M, and my best guess is we are around 50M infected now. This data seems to support that number. So a wats to go but I suspect we’ve at least reached the midpoint.
Over 2/3 of all Pennsylvania deaths are nursing homes, and most deaths and cases are focused into the densely populated urban sprawl. Those two factors could explain why some people have a hard time knowing someone who died.

If your calculations are correct (and they seem pretty plausible) the real reason for masks is to slow down herd immunity so that it does not arrive before Fauci & Co. can cash-in on their vaccine.

As most people are still traveling somewhat freely around their town - it would be those travelers that have the higher numbers.
With fewer travelers that can be infected the transmission will slow.

With all due respect to Dr. Richard Bartlett and his curing his over a dozen patients with the use of Budesonide... I have NOT read any news or paper telling us that the Japanese, Singaporeans or Taiwanese are using Budesonide to treat their Covid-19 patients. Dr. Bartlett never gave us any news reports or links. He just simply said they were using it to cure their patients.
If you or anyone else have some reliable source to back up Dr. Bartlett’s claim, I will be grateful to read it.
