It's a non-sequitur to state that if you wear a mask, for whatever reason, that you will be more likely to submit to quarantine, or a mandatory tracing app, or anything else.
There are two groups in the middle. One who wears masks and sees a benefit. Some to keep their jobs, others to shop, and others who think they have some preventive value.
The other group believes that masks are not useful, can be detrimental and that mask mandates are executive overreach.
My opinion is we should stay in the niddle.
Exhaling through the nose creates a lot less droplets than speaking.

Red herring,. Nobody says they are perfectly safe. The scienttific theory is the more people wear them, the fewer droplets will be in the air. It's a theory subject to testing and some tests show fewer droplets. Whether that's enough to stop an infection depends on the situation.

Well actually, Doodlebob, wearing a mask is a profound indication of unreserved submission to the Great American Deep State Unelected Bureaucrazy!!!
It has been suggested that viral load is important in determining the severity of a COVID-19 infection. Masks could possibly help reduce the load one is exposed to if the mask is effective in reducing the spread of droplets that contain the virus. Certainly masks are not a perfect defense, and all masks don’t provide an equal degree of protection.
Would that mean eschewing the mask is a light indication of reserved rejection to the Tepid Nork Shallow State Elected Efficienormal?

If around some seriously at-risk folks, I would wear one out of courtesy.

In order for the communists to move to the next phase of control they first need everyone’s obedience, and the mask demonstrated obedience. It does nothing to stop a virus.
