St. Louis’ top prosecutor told The Associated Press on Monday that she is charging a white husband and wife with felony unlawful use of a weapon for displaying guns during a racial injustice protest outside their mansion. Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner announced the charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who are both personal injury attorneys in their 60s. They also face a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree assault.

I see the punks in the street acting like kids provoking the police, they could use a club on the knees so they could go limping back home. Maybe some of them would have a sore leg for a few weeks, maybe some would have a permanent limp. Something to remember their little youthful adventure.

Considering all the rioting and looting that took place in the days before this incident, I think the owners had a quite valid concern that their property and safety were at risk. After all the Marxists did break down a gate to gain entry to the property. They weren’t there just to take a walk. Under those circumstances a “reasonable person” would understand arming yourself.
The guns were loaded.
The guns were pointed at people they weren’t willing to destroy.
Her finger was on the trigger.
They weren’t considering what was beyond the targets.
3/4 Rule violations, and the other 1/4 was an “oh crap”.
They’re in trouble.

IIRC he kept excusing things as “normal”. Until the police that were supposed to keep the peace ended up looting the stores that they were supposed to protect so that they could feed their families.
That’s when he knew that things were really bad.
Of course that could never happen here!
