Ill bet race had nothing to do with these decisions. If my alma mater had a golf team or tennis team I’d be the last one to know about it. These are expensive sports to play and generate almost $0 in revenue for the school.

Id pay to watch Stanford tennis way before I would ever go to one of their football games.

Tennis is not expensive from an equipment standpoint. Their teams are small. They need maybe two or three racquets and balls. They probably use the college’s weight room and have small stadiums.

Ill bet race had nothing to do with these decisions.
But what is interesting is that they want to project race as the reason.................................

As a dad of two D-1 Golfers, oddly enough on the the same team, I will tell you that the majority of these programs are heavily supported by the parents donations to the college team.

Golf requires a course, which is expensive, but those costs can be shared by charging faculty, staff, students, and alumni to play.
But how is tennis expensive?

Tennis is not expensive. It’s about race.

These sports don’t generate any money, but they do let colleges pretend that a large percentage of their athletes have decent grades and graduate. The athletes in these sports make up for others who are practically illiterate.
